  Cafe and Hot Spring Bath with Cherry Blossoms

  We visit this place only for the hot spring bath. Anyone who had lunch or tea/coffee at the lounge can enjoy the bath, which costs 800 JPY. I've raved about the outside bath in this season. You can be actually enjoying cherry blossoms while you are bathing!!! It's so amazing!! The outside bath is quite small, which probably fits three people maximum but the view is breathtaking. Better go sunny full bloom day! If you don't have time for the bath, don't worry. You can enjoy cherry blossoms at the coffee lounge. The view is also amazing.

  Outdoor hot spring with cherry blossom!

  If you love hot spring. This hotel worths a day trip to have a meal and afterward the hot spring. From Nara, it is approx. 45 mins ride by train+bus/taxi. Lunch is approx. USD20-25 at the restaurant. Take the receipt to the reception counter and paid approx. USD5 with a small towel provided. If you spent at the cafe, they charge approx. USD7 for the hot spring. They don't provide bath towel, so if you want, you need to bring it. The hotel has spectacular view of cherry blossom around. At the hot spring area, the restaurant and the cafe, the view is gorgeous. If you go during cherry blossom, you better ask your hotel to check whether you need to book a seat for your meal as it is a famous spot for cherry blossom.

  Magnificent views of cherry blossoms in April

  We stayed here 2 nights and wished we stayed for 3. This is a traditional ryokan hotel with indoor and outdoor onsens or hot baths. The rooms were quite spacious with futon beds but also table and chairs on a verandah and we had magnificent views of cherry blossoms from the windows in our room. The town is very interesting but limited food options. The nearest railway station is a 20 minute taxi ride to Oji. You can catch a train to Nara and be there in less than 30 minutes. We did day trips to Nara but could have spent another day walking in the local area. There are lots of temples and walking trails.

  Wonderful Ryokan style hotel!

  I visited Shigisan during Christmas and I stayed at Shigisan Kanko Hotel. The hotel arranged a shuttle to pick me up at the train station and the check in was very easy. There were two onsen pools for the guests and both breakfast and dinner were included in my booking. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Shigisan!
