COVID ALERT - AVOID THIS HOTELI stayed there earlier this week. Duke Energy also stays there. In the morning there were at least 30 people in the lobby, not one of them wearing a mask. The hotel would be fine otherwise, but ZERO mask enforcement.

3 Stars is the Best I Can Do!Stayed just one night last week and I thought the lobby area was cool and the doorman Luis was a great help and was the best part of this stay. I'm have 250 nights in Bonvoy Hotels (even through COVID) and have Ambassador status. Of my 250 nights, and $65,000 paid to hotels, this is the only one that has "suspended" benefits. Status was not recognized, no food, no water, no upgrade, and I was put in a small room under repair so had to be moved. Yes, I know, I'm spoiled, I get it, and I'm grateful to have a roof over my head. I also spend lots of time on the road and give my loyalty to this brand so yes I expect a hello, a bottle of water so I do not have to find a store, and I certainly expect a coffee and eggs in the morning. Spoiled or not.

Outdated! Not our first stay, as it's convenient for an overnight close to the airport prior to a morning departure, but this place is seriously slipping! Complete lack of customer service. Despite Titanium Elite status, no acknowledgement... no water. Used a suite upgrade.. complete waste... mattress in sofa bed was disgusting... No sheets in room... AC making horrible racket! Downgraded to double queen to get some rest. Rooms are '80's and very worn. This has become more a 2 star Motel 6!

Got all the small things rightDue to an impending Lake Effect snow event in Buffalo, I wisely changed our flight into Charlotte to a day earlier to ensure that we would make our connecting flight the following morning. This was all a last minute decision on Christmas Day because who can predict lake effect snow accurately. As it turns out, over 18" of snow fell on the Buffalo airport the following day and our original flight was cancelled. Because it was Christmas Day, I booked the Sheraton hoping that their hotel restaurant would be open so that we could at least get some dinner. I was afraid that it might be closed, but I didn't have time to do any real research. One of the most important things for an airport hotel to get right is the shuttle. The Sheraton absolutely nailed this feature. From the time I called the hotel, our shuttle arrived within 10 minutes. The driver was so nice and helpful. Check in easy and we were given a room upgrade (although I'm only Gold status). We had a king bed room on the 8th floor with two comfy chairs, ample desk space, coffee maker, and room safe. The room was well sound proofed (another key factor for an airport hotel). The room had ample outlets at the desk area and in the nightstands. They even had a recycling bin in the room. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo which was fine by us. There was a large counter space and the hair dryer worked great. The room was also very clean (additional sanitizing wipes were provided). The bed was super comfortable and we both slept well. Our good luck continued when we found out the hotel restaurant was open for dinner. We were exhausted after our last minute travel (and packing) adventure. We were so grateful for the yummy hamburgers and local draft beer. The indoor/outdoor pool below the lobby area looked inviting, but we chose to relax in our bedroom watching football after dinner. We did get up early to use the 24/7 fitness center in the basement. We both used the ellipticals and the bikes, which were in good working condition. There were also free weights along with plenty of towels and sanitizer. There were signs regarding social distancing, but obviously, we were the only ones in there at 5:00 a.m. on a Saturday. We wore our masks when in public spaces (except during dinner, of course) and everyone I saw did also. The shuttle back to the airport leaves at the top and bottom of the hour. It was exactly on time at 7:00 a.m. Good thing we got to the airport early, because it was a madhouse. In the time before Covid, I traveled frequently to Charlotte for work. I hope to stay at this hotel again in the not too distant future. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff for saving our much needed combination vacation and charitable donation run.

The photo says it allThis is a photo of the ceiling light in the room. Yes, those multiple black dots are dead bug corpses. And my stay was in January which means it has been at least several months since that light fixture has been cleaned. The hotel is touting its enhanced cleaning during the COVID pandemic. Please!
