  Not a good family stay

  We stayed in the 1st floor family room with our children on Saturday night. The walls were rattling with live music downstairs all night. We would accept some noise but this was ridiculous. The included breakfast was no good cause someone had eaten/stolen all the good cereals.

  Great place to drop ion for lunch

  Dropped in on the off chance one wet Saturday lunchtime. Food good but it does need more vegetarian dishes/options. Kids loved the side orders. Atmosphere and Guinness always good. Nice unexpected treat.

  One night stay

  I stayed at Shenanigans for just one night. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. That is all I needed for somewhere to sleep. As usual for most country pubs there were shared showers but they were very clean and modern. There was a choice of breakfast in the restaurant or a basic "do it yourself" in the shared kitchen.The supplies for the do it yourself brekky (cereal, bread and spreads, milk, tea and coffee) were plentiful and again was all I needed.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my short stay.

  Lovely Food and Wine List

  We stopped in here for a late lunch and had the nachos and salt and pepper squid. The nachos was lovely and a big serve for the price. The salt and pepper squid was a bit overcooked but still nice with a side of salad. The wine list had a lot of local wines which was nice. We'll be back!

  Middle of the Maitland Fun!

  This place is so well located. Above a fun pub with a great bistro but also bang in the middle of the fun end of High Street. You enter separate to the pub and go to the first floor which transports you to Edwardian times. Beautiful decor. Rooms modern and comfy. We had share twin but I believe double is available. Shared bathrooms are not a problem and the make your own breakfast area just works. One other time I stayed here a parlour at the front was open and that was stunning. We ate at the pub downstairs. Big tick. Trying to find an excuse for another Maitland trip!
