  Great location, super service, nice overall hotel

  The hotel is a no brainer. We are in Charleston often (we have family there, but trust me, just as easy to stay at hotel, lol) and normally stay downtown. Last time we were in town, we found ourselves hanging on and around Shem Creek, so, we decided to stay at this gem. I actually stayed here some years ago on a buddies golf trip, but that doesn't count, I hardly remember a thing, lol. On this particular trip, we were actually on a drive from Chicago to FL, and stopped here on the way down, and way back for a couple of nights each way. So this review encompasses both those visits, which, were exactly the same, which is good, consistency is key. We actually had the same room. lol Anywho, the place is great. Good service, clean, good location, and comfortable rooms. I would have gave a perfect score, but I think the place just needs a wee bit of updating/maintenance, but other than that, it was fantastic. First, lets discuss the covid. Masks, most guests wear their masks, sanitizer abound, and everything was nice and clean. Limited maid service, etc. All the standards, we had no concerns. Check in was smooth. You get a quick lay of the land, a complimentary check in drink, and parking pass if you drove (included as well). The room was nice and clean. We opted for marsh view, as we were not expecting to spend much time here (remember, family, lol) I have to envision, creek side room (read, pool side room) could get a bit loud. Keep in mind the waters edge bar is just below the pool area. Back to room itself, the bed was very comfy, room a good size, nice in room mini fridge, all what you would expect. Bathroom was nice, clean and well appointed, shower was roomy and clean. The staff at front desk is probably all you will deal with during your stay and we encountered a handful and they were all super nice and friendly as well as professional. They have a free "Grab and go" breakfast in the AMs which actually works in this area. There are a few places close by on the main drag you can get breakfast otherwise, but the grab and go is perfect, save yourself for a big lunch around the creek. Speaking of around the creek, this is the highlight as there are plenty of bars and restaurants all around you. If you don't have a good time here, its you. lol Great stay, we already have reservations to go back.

  Great Location in the perfect setting

  It was such a wonderful stay near all the resturants and nature . We loved the beauty of the water and walking to so much around the area. Best location and clean hotel with friendly staff. Such an easy place to stay with perfect parking.

  Quick visit to Shem Creek/Charleston

  Great view of Shem Creek,swimming pool, and restaurants, all of which are within a five minute walk. No need to drive while staying here. Saw dolphins from my large hotel balcony. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The two negatives were that there was a hair in the shower (before I took one) and the mattress was not comfortable. I prefer this location over downtown Charleston because of the proximity to the water and dolphin watching. Will stay here again but will double check the shower for cleanliness upon arrival.

  Weekend visit to Charleston, SC

  We loved our stay at the Shem Creek Inn! Many great restaurants nearby to choose from and a pier to walk out on! So much fun and a great atmosphere! Updated rooms and great parking! We will definitely be visiting again soon!!

  Over Rated....good location...Poor Rooms...Not comfortable at all.

  Poor...Facility ...Dated. Old Place..Muddy and Dirty Parking Lot...My "Deluxe King Creek Side" for $300 a night was not comfortable at all....Can't see TV unless in bed..No comfortable chair to sit in..only 2 straight back chairs with no viiew of anything but the bed...
