Great locationWe enjoyed a great 3 night stay in a one bedroom apartment with ocean view. Easy walk to Kings Beach and other eating places. A great bonus was the free unlimited WiFi for the duration of our stay. Would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Fabulous view, great location! We stayed for two nights at the Shearwater Resort. The view is fantastic. We are right in the heart of Kings. Places to eat and drink strides away, not to mention the beautiful beach and pool complex. The room is comfortable, clean and the bed very restful. We will be back.

First negative review I have written so take this seriously - terrible! The problem with this hotel is not the ground staff but management in head office. Nothing will be done by them to make things right. I purchased the 2 bedroom unit with one bathroom which online provided a photo of an ocean view. However when I turned up I was informed we had level one next to the pool unit 12. We were 3 mums checking in for a rest break from kids, and we were Gobsmacked to hear not only were we next to the pool but also on level 1 with no ocean view. The ground staff at the accommodation were very helpful and moved us to unit 7 which apparently was the only other unit available. However unit 7 also did not have any view of the ocean either as was disclosed online. When booking the accommodation the only pictures presented online are the ones with an ocean view. See my photos in this review, What was presented online I believe, is deceptive and misleading, #ACCC take note. In addition the unit we did take, unit 7 had the following issues: 1. The room with twin beds, the door did not shut without moving the bed. 2. broken light fitting in cupboard which is dangerous 3. filthy as many flies on ground by lamp in living room 4. air ventilator did not work in bathroom 5. underwear and clothing on ground outside patio 6. One bedroom was extremely hot. It has no aircon. One of the mums could not sleep due to the heat and therefore needed to take sleeping tablets to have one night of full sleep. By way of comparison my friend booked accommodation for the same period at 35 Canberra heights 2 bed/ 2 bath laundry and this place has actual views of the ocean! The facilities in the apartment were high end. They provided early check in and gave 2 Caloundra stubby coolers as a gift for staying. The cost for this place was $550. If we had known the accomodation we were obtaining from Ultiqa was not represented accurately online then we would have chosen this place. I furthermore followed up with management in head office to which they justified their misleading and deceptive advertising by stating we should be "requesting" an ocean view. Sorry but no where on the website does it state you must request an ocean view and the marketing photo is not correct! I just want to reiterate the ground staff were lovely and tried to make the best of a terrible situation. They did provide a bottle of wine to try to make up for it. But really we wanted the ocean view we paid for. The problem with this company is lack of any customer focus and terrible customer experience through head office and management decisions. Therefore you have NO chance of getting a good experience if they do something awful like give you a downgraded room. There is LOTS of great accomodation in Kings Beach. Stay ANYWHERE but here!

Worst Experience on the Sunshine Coast Ever!!!I recently stayed at the Shearwater Resort with my partner. Our experience there was the worst experience I have ever had on the Sunshine Coast. Below is a letter that we emailed to head office three weeks ago after our stay experiencing our disappointment and what happened when we stayed. We asked for compensation but have not had a reply. Neither of us would stay at this accommodation again and would not recommend it to anybody. I am not sure how they can call it a RESORT as it is no where near up to the standard of a resort!!! My partner, and I recently stayed at Ultiqa Shearwater Resort at Caloundra. We booked for 3 nights from the 15th November to the 18th November 2020. I am writing to advise you of how very disappointed we were with this resort. We got off to a bad start right from the very beginning. We arrived at the resort a little after 3pm on Sunday afternoon after a 4 hour drive, to find that reception was closed. On booking and in our confirmation email there was no mention that reception wouldnt be open. We proceeded to dial 9 for after-hours service. The after-hours phone was on a timer and it kept timing out. A few times we got through to the operator only to say a few words and then we would get cut off again. After approximately three quarters of an hour we finally spoke to someone long enough to give them a mobile number to call. We were then able to access our keys from the safe. When I phoned the resort to book our accommodation I requested a unit with a great view and a nice unit as we came from the country and wanted a nice view and a little luxury as it was our first getaway as a couple. The lady she spoke with said she would put us in room 44 on level 5. Not the case when we got there. We were given unit 33 on the 4th floor, what a disgrace. We couldnt go out on the balcony as it had the western sun glowing fiercely on it. The unit was very small and poorly maintained and appointed. There was no separate shower and spa tub just shower over spa bath. I called the after-hours number again to complain but there was nothing that could be done so we had to spend the night in the unit. We would like to point out some issues we encountered and have attached photos. These issues are No door lock barrel in toilet door. The only way the door could be closed was with a door hold back clasp that was on the inside of the door. Cracked lightshade Air conditioning in lounge area has been replaced and the holes and paint where the old one was have never been fixed. Got a teacup out next morning for breakfast and it was dirty. The next morning we had arranged to visit elderly friends at 10am in Nambour, one of these friends is in a nursing home. Due to Corona Virus, rules and regulations at nursing homes are very strict. Reception didnt open until 9am and we wanted to sort out our dilemma before leaving. By the time we spoke to the manager we were then late for our visit to the nursing home in Nambour. Luckily we were still allowed to visit. We both spoke with the Manager and we were very annoyed and disappointed. The Manager said we should not have been put in that unit. I pointed out that we were paying good money for a terribly small unit with maintenance issues. We wouldnt mind paying the tariff for a nice room but not for what was in Unit 33. The Manager offered to shift us to another room on our return from Nambour. He also mentioned due to the fact the units are individually owned makes it hard to control. That is understandable but I would have thought that all units should have a standard and if owners dont want to maintain things then those units should be charged at a lesser rate or not rented at all. Also, the photos on the website certainly dont reflect what the units are really like. I am a real estate agent and she is fully aware of the false advertising law. After returning from our visit we were given the keys to Unit 54 on the 6th floor. This unit was a little better. At least the view was lovely. There was a separate shower and spa tub which was more pleasant. However, we found a hole in the top sheet of our bed. (Photo attached). Not good enough. It was very inconvenient to have to pack up our belongings and move when we were only holidaying for 3 nights. It put a dampener on our getaway that we were so looking forward to having. Also, the lifts werent working properly. One day, we couldnt get to the car park. We had to get out at ground and then walk around to the carpark entrance. I would also like to point out that the outside of the building and patios were being washed. While I understand this to be necessary it would have been nice to be advised before booking or be offered our stay at a reduced rate. The first we were advised about this work being carried out was on arrival where a notification letter was placed on the reception counter. While the tradesman were very nice it wasnt very private having someone abseiling up and down past the unit and as for the pool, there was no lying by the pool and reading a book unless you were happy to have a noisy gurney in your ear. We would like to mention that we found the resort rundown and in need of some serious upgrades. There were some other disgruntled guests as well. The people next door werent satisfied with their stay. Our bad check in experience was shared with a young lady as well. I spoke to the Manager and asked for compensation for our first nights stay in the way of a refund. He advised that he would have to talk to head office. The next day when asking he advised that we had to send an email to him to pass onto head office. We felt that he wouldnt send the email onto head office so we are sending it direct. We were extremely disappointed with our choosing to stay at Ultiqua Shearwater Resort. We both feel it is the worst experience we have had on the Sunshine Coast. Unfortunately, we wont be back to stay again and wouldnt recommend it to anyone. We would like to be contacted about a refund of our stay as I feel it is rightfully deserved.

Ultimate relaxationOcean views, comfortable facilities, friendly helpful staff and a great location all combined for a perfect mid week getaway. With eating options a plenty, all within walking distance we were spoilt for choice. And it didn't break the bank either. Tip, book directly. Complimentary light breakfast included was a delightful surprise. In all a great choice of accommodation for a Caloundra get away. Highly recommend. Might try the Burleigh apartments next time.
