  Perfect location, but lacking cleanliness

  The best location, near the beach, nice swimming pool and restaurant. Our family booked 2 units during the holidays. Unfortunately the units are very dirty despite the fact that it gets cleaned daily. Walls were cleaned months ago, floors are sandy, some cutlery and crockery in cupboards still had food and old cooldrink in it. No supervision once units were cleaned. Most DSTV channels did not work. No free WIFI. When units are cleaned properly this will be one of the best holiday vacation spots. Untill then, we will not recommend to anyone.

  Review

  Good day. Best place ever to be. Everything in good condition. Quiet place very relaxing. Minutes after I post pics on my whatsapp status. I received requested from friends to also come and experience excellent service here. Thank you very much for a great time. Kids enjoyed the pool alot. Regards Marinda Masok

  Not clean.

  We visited Shearwater on sea during Dec 2019. What a disappointment. The bathroom is extremely dirty, our remote for the main gate did not work and we had no braai grid. The stove is full of rust, as well as the fridge. When they cleaned the unit in the morning, the floors werent even swept. There was a total mix up with the parkings, everybody parked on the wrong parking bays. Total lack of management.

  TOUCH DOWN GROUP I GUESS DISAPPOINTED BEST DESCRIBES THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW! SHEARWATER ON SEA SEDGEFIELD A TOUCH DOWN DEVELOPMENT We hadnt planned a vacation over the Festive Season this year after having been away on other occasions during 2019. However, a great opportunity presented itself on Black Friday when my daughter received a message from the Touch Down Group with offers of really good rates for Shearwater on Sea. She immediately responded and we booked our trip and made payment as requested. The booking was for 3 12 January, 2020. Having been to Shearwater on several previous occasions we knew the resort well and requested rooms that we had stayed in before. The lady at Shearwater advised that my daughter, her husband and children could be accommodated in the room she had requested. The other two rooms were for single occupancy and we also agreed on those choices. This request was followed up by a telephone call we made to Shearwater. Imagine when on arrival seeing a huge sign outside that indicated that the Shearwater units are for sale! My daughter and family were advised that the unit she had requested had been sold in August and that the owners were staying in it! So, what now? The only solution was for them to stay in another unit for 2 nights and then move to a different unit next to the one they had requested for the rest of their stay. Whilst it is understandable that the office personnel should be despondent with trying to address these issues, it leaves the guests with the problem of trying to deal with the outcome. At this point I would like to compliment all the housekeeping staff for doing their best when their futures are probably also uncertain. With regards to the lodge, it is very clear that it has been left to deteriorate in many ways for some time in spite of the fact that there are A4 signs around saying Maintenance in Progress. Some examples: Black mould in the bathrooms, toilets that did not flush properly, a door that came off its hinges, missing remotes for the TVs, painting needing a fresh coat, café rarely open at the times stated on the door, area outside the café very dusty and not maintained. A note re security: the family in the unit above my daughter had their two bicycles chained to the poles of the staircase. The one morning they woke up to find that the chain had been sawn off with a hacksaw (which was still lying there) and the bicycles had gone. The guard unfortunately did not see or hear anything. In closing I think it would be appropriate for the Touch Down Group to keep customers informed of their intention to sell a development that is still being rented out at present.

  Shearwater on Sea - Under average

  Parking far from rooms, no assistance from personnel with moving of luggage to and from parking. Parking spaces very small, especially when you are traveling with a bakkie or SUV. Rooms get cleaned daily, but floors sill very messy. Maintenance lack everywhere, handles & hinges rusted and not working properly. Very expensive data cost with no free wifi. Only few DSTV channels and not always working. Rooms extremely warm, even with the rusted and dirty fan on.
