  I visit as often as I can. Their chilli nachos are brilliant. The rest of the food looks fantastic too but I'm addicted so I only order one thing. Staff fantastic too. I'm not exactly local but make the effort to go there.

  Good service but poor standard of room

  Overall the standard of room is very poor, I stayed ove the weekend and could hear everything from the bar downstairs till after 23:30. So it's not ideal if you would like a good sleep. The carpet in the room also had mould. I couldn't stay for breakfast but the staff prepared me a breakfast sandwich to take away with me which was a lovely touch and very thoughtful of the team.

  Left without a room the day before a wedding

  Very upset and cross. I booked a room in April for a friends wedding. I then contacted them several times via phone and email to confirm the booking. Many times they told me they would call me back / their internet was bad in the heat?!/ the owner was at the shop etc but they never rang me back / said there was an issue. I then got a text the night before the reservation from a private mobile number saying thered been a mix up and theres no room for us there are anywhere in town. A TEXT!! Absolutely livid and frustrated.

  What an improvement!

  Its been about five years since Ive visited here. Unrecognisable! Well done all involved. Really impressed. Lovely base to start out from or come back to after a walk. Also after a visit to the church.

  Wonderful Sunday Lunch

  Had Sunday lunch at the Sheaf today. There were seven of us including two children and we were made most welcome by John and his staff. The food was first class and there was so much, we couldnt finish it all. It really was one of the best Sunday lunches wed ever had. Well be back.
