  Worst dinner in Toowoomba!

  16 years in Toowoomba and never been to the Shamrock... went the other week on a Saturday night for dinner with friends. Ordered the chicken, with onion rings on the side. Was charged for chicken and full onion rings... then told neither was available. Ordered a 300g rump instead... me and another girl at our table waited and waited for this steak (both well done)... I get mine... she gets 2 x 200g put in front of her as they "ran out of 300g". My "well done" steak was still red in the middle... when I brought this to the attention of the woman clearing tables she asked me "what would you like us to do about it?"... I said "cook it?"... so she took my entire plate, with chips, salad the uneaten steak and sauce back to the kitchen... when she finally returned, she brought me a steak on a side plate. Where was the rest of my meal??? I asked could I at least have my sauce returned... and was brought out gravy, not the Diane sauce I had ordered. The steak was STILL red inside anyway! I told the woman again and was told "we turns the grills off at 8 o'clock"... this was a Saturday night ffs?? So I didn't eat my meal... and no refund or compensation was offered... will NEVER go back!

  Last minute RIPPER deal!

  So ended up in Toowoomba on Wednesday 27 September unexpectedly. Needed a place to stay for the night. Checked online and the Shamrock was listed for $150 a night on one of the hotel apps. Didn't have a lot of choice in terms of budget. Rolled up there and spoke to the lovely Kyneisha (sorry if I didn't get the spelling right)... She immediately gives us a sensational smile and says she can do the room for $130... BOOM! THEN she says '...and if you haven't eaten we have 2 for 1 parmy's in the bistro'... 2nd BOOM! So up to the room to drop of kit and straight down to the bistro (Avo and Bacon variety) to be met by quite possibly the BEST avo and bacon parmy I have ever had... huge and absolutely superb, expertly washed down with a couple of pints of black Irish liquid gold. This hotel may be listed as three stars but let me tell you, for a couple of weary travellers, the digs were comfy, the food superb and the service sensational... thank you Kyneisha... we WILL be back.

  Revolting

  The room was filthy. Hand prints all over the walls and ceiling. Might be pregnant/contracted something from sitting on the couch in the room. The shower wasnt working properly in any of the few rooms that myself and my party had booked - to a point where standing in the rain and bathing would have been more helpful. 0.5 out of 10, do not recommend.

  Absolutely Awful.....

  Went here for a meal on a first date.. Thankfully, my date was stunning and beautiful, which made up for the awful food. We orders garlic bread, calamari and two plates of rump steak and pork ribs. The garlic bread was very greasy, the calamari was over spiced and the ribs were big rectangular slabs of meat with no taste and no sauce. The whole place was really run down, and the chef closed the kitchen around 7.30pm as there was no other customers.... If was easy to see why... Sadly the whole place needs a complete revamp.... The food and environment was awful. Sadly, I have to say I won't be back...

  Dodgy lodgings

  Booked online, wont do this again. Very expensive. Charged $198.00 for 3 beds, floors and bathroom not clean, found last tenants earplugs on the floor. . Owners very rude. Hotel staff tried there best. Very tacky. To top things off was the drug deal going on in the motel carpack. Will not be going back.
