bad experiencei was there few days ago, unfortunately it was a stressful experience. we arrived after midnight exhausted from the long drive dying for good sleep in a comfortable hotel room. paid RM165 for a room per night + RM50 deposit. we got a connecting room as we planned for a second room for my brother the next day. entering the room, it was stuffy as if there was poor ventilation & dusty. the wood finishing floor was so dusty that each time we enter the bathroom we leave black footprints on the wet bathroom floor. the bathroom! old & rusty, i immediately missed our own bathroom at home. the air-conditioner was not cooling us enough that i slept all night not using my blanket. not to forget the loud noise outside (as if there was a karaoke going on) untill 2.00am. the next day when i was about to complain, the receptionist guessed straight away that i was going to complain on the loud noise. made me feel even more upset, why didnt u warn us about the noise if u knew about it, we would've asked for a different room! we cancelled staying the second night. felt sorry for ourselves. the receptionist didnt even apologise on behalf of the hotel, neither did she thanked me for my advise on improving their maintenance for their rooms. all rooms, not just the most frequently used only. oh yeah, by the way, i booked the room 1 week in advance, & phoned earlier the same day we were coming to confirm the booking, but obviously booking early didnt help them provide the best hospitality for us.

Nice 3 star hotelWhy I highlighted the 3 stars ? Because it is 3 stars and not 4 or 5 so it is not fair to expect full services and qualities like the more stars hotel. Granted the furnitures are a bit old in the rooms and the tv is still crt not led but on the plus sides it does have nice pool with good surrounding, the parking lot is adequate, the hotel is clean, the staffs are friendly so I could live with minor shortcomings.

an ad-hoc nite at shah's village hotel pjnot so friendly hotel staffs. from the outside, the hotel's ambience looks good and cozy. but the rooms need more touch ups. me and family have been travelling quite frequently and we could find other hotels at a cheaper price with far more better services. the room smells with paint, the washroom condition was DISGUSTING for an accommodation called HOTEL. i have been to this hotel few years back. to my surprise, after my recent visit, nothing much refurbishment done. My husband and kids refuse to come back for another stay. i must also comment on the foods served for breakfast. perhaps the hotel management should find other/new chef. FOODS TASTED LOUSY. Cold porridge, plastic tasted nasi lemak, tasteless coffee and kuihs. even my kids couldn't be bothered to finish their cereals because the milk tasted not fresh. car park also were dark at night. the security was busy doing his own business rather than seriously care about guests's safety and traffic movement around the hotel lobby towards the hotel's car park. we will not come again ;not recommend to our friends and families. not worth the $$$!

AvoidNot worth the RM138 I paid. The paint was peeling from the bathroom ceiling, the basin did not have a plug, the basin came away from the wall. The paint on the bedroom wall was damaged and the view from the balcony was of a squat. It should be closed down.

Old fashioned but lovelyI went to this place for some days because of the central location nearby the LRT station and because I like to swim sometimes. This hotel is supposed to be the oldest in PJ it was built in 1952. I liked the lobby with its architecture style, specially the round stairs and the decorations. The big swimming pool is situated in the middle of a green garden.I enjoyed this calm place several times after a long exhausting day. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet included western and local food for only 20 MYR. They provide lunch and diner too in a special atmosphere. Because this is a Muslim place, no alcohol was offered. The bathroom needs a new restorationa but I could deal with this inconvenience. At all I can conclude that I would like to come again to this quite, old fashioned place, which has a touch of the past century.
