Peaceful GetawayBad Wiessee is a really attractive little town by Lake Tegernsee and would recommend this inn for a short stay. Host was really personable and offered great recommendations. I had a single room which was the perfect size, a little dated but cleanliness was top notch. Breakfast in the morning was a treat. Overall, a good stay.

Extremely Helpful & Friendly StaffI have stayed at Hotel Setzberg 3 times this past year. The first time I had a knee injury and they immediately moved me to the first floor and were very helpful. Katja has been extremely helpful with transportation, logistics and any other problems that arose. The breakfasts were delicious, my bed was comfortable and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely stay here again!!

Room with Lots of ExtrasAll the staff were very friendly at this hotel. In case you arrive before check-in time at 2pm, outdoor wicker seating is provided. I was amazed at the extras in the nice-sized single room (#6) for such a modest price -- desk, chair, softer chair, refrigerator, large corner balcony, complete with an outside chair and shelf, attached closeup bathroom mirror and a separate swivel mirror, soap provided, stool for sitting to take a shower, built-in shelf for a large suitcase, with room underneath for another, nice curtains, TV. The breakfast buffet included extras such as hard-boiled eggs, cucumbers, tomatoes, something in small bowls that looked like a tuna dish ???, fruit, as well as the usual variety of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals. There were many teas to choose from, as well as coffee available. The breakfast room also contained a refrigerator of soft drinks, juices, waters, and other drinks one take on the honor system, listing in a notebook and paying at checkout. The hotel was located on a nice, quiet side street, only about a 5-8 minute walk from the main square (post office along the way). Buses that are free with the "guest card" you receive upon checking in, board at the main square for traveling both clockwise and counterclockwise around the lake, as well as a few other buses. The pavilion for concerts is just about a block behind the post office; the boat launch is about a 3 minute walk from the pavilion. I enjoyed the restaurant across from the main square that serves warm food all throughout the day until late at night. Other restaurants are scattered about the town. Everything is just right there close by. Parking is available right in front of (or at the side of ) the hotel, though having a car is not necessary (I took the train from the Munich airport that included a change outside of Munich, and then a bus from the train station at Gmund.). I gave a rating of 4 instead of 5 because both chairs in the room were not particularly comfortable after sitting for a while, and the single bed seemed to slant a bit.

Clean and Comfortable with great locationWe have stayed in a few hotels in Bad Wiessee and chose Setzberg this time for a weekend away. Disappointed with the check-in ( and check out ) as the girl did not really provide a welcome, no smiles as experienced in other hotels in the area. The room on the first floor was clean and comfortable and adequate for the weekend. There were only two clothes hangers to place your clothes in the wardrobe and the room would have benefited from a kettle and some cups to make a tea or coffee. Safe, TV provided. Soap dispenser at the shower and sink point, although the one at the sink was empty. The first morning we were delighted with the breakfast provided. Pots of coffee on the tables and a choice of teas were also available. Juice, water ( with lemon and mint ) and an array of rolls and fresh bread. There was a mediterranean element, with Tomato and mozzarella cheese, prawns in garlic or marie rose sauce, yoghurts, plus fresh yoghurt and granola with fruit or fruit salad. eggs (plus you could ask for scrambled or fried ), different meats and cheeses. It was wonderful and well presented. The breakfast was one of the best we had experienced in the area for choice. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the town, lake and amenities. The cleaning was excellent and the lady who cleans always said good morning and smiled. Wifi was very poor and at times didn't work at all.
