Lovely room, shame about the serviceNo complaints about the room - comfortable bed, clean, tv etc all fine. Short walk from station which was a priority for me. However, did not like having to walk down the street to find reception in a different hotel. Has clearly traded customer service for cost cutting -I love motels for the chance to chat about the local area but this felt very impersonal. In doing so, has lost my future business

Won't be backHad to walk up the street to collect keys. No reception. Sign on window. I was told it had just been bought. But reviews show this has been going on for over 6 months at least. The property needs some maintenance - sliding doors don't slide; maintenance in bathrooms needed. Would be OK if not expensive - but this was up there price-wise. Good wifi. Bed not bad.

Never again! The description of this room on both Expedia and Booking.com said there was a stove top (hob) in the room which I needed so I could cook my meals during my stay as I am disabled and a diabetic - I even rang prior to booking online to confirm this with staff and was advised this was the case, but when we got there we found that this was incorrect no stove top at all! For the price of the room, I didn't expect to see wires coming out from the wall above the TV, an awful shower that was extremely dated and had quite a high step up to enter it, no information folder to explain WIFI and other helpful information (Like ph no for office for example), really badly stained chairs that I would not ever wish to sit in (let alone pay to do so) and in general it just looked very worn, dated and awfully shabby! The office is closed so you have to go to The Dupont to book in (down the road), and when I went there to complain, I was given a new room which was slightly better but still had no stove top. Back I traipsed to The DuPont (yay! There was an info folder in the 2nd room but the phone didn't work) and I was given a replacement room at the DuPont. This room only had 1 bed when I needed two - I was with my adult son - but apparently this was all they could do for me so having no other choice, I accepted. We had an influx of ants in the room, not only in the kitchen but also in the sleeping area and in the bed which made sleep impossible. Staff were less than helpful and didn't come to deal with this as they promised until I rang late at night, very angry & demanded they do something. They came with a spray which stank the room out (strong chemical lemon smell) even though I had told them my son suffers from asthma...they didn't care and sprayed anyway leading to a sleepless and wheezy, miserable stay. I was not offered compensation despite asking by email and was basically brushed off with deflection and excuses....I will NEVER stay in either Motel ever again! The same people own Midway Pasifica on the same stretch of road, so one can only hope it isn't as badly run as either the Settler's or the DuPont! **Please note: In all fairness we have stayed at the DuPont prior to this latest awful stay, but we were in one of the upper story rooms which was quite satisfactory and did not have an ant problem. This latest stay saw us placed in a ground floor room which was substandard to our needs and had the ant problem! The staff are different from our last stay too and the service is atrocious!

Comfortable motelWe have stayed on a number of occasions at this motel and have found it to be clean, comfortable and warm. We chose this motel because we can take our small dog and that is appreciated. However since a change of ownership it is now necessary to walk along the street to another motel to collect the room key. There is no one on duty at this motel. This is a major inconvenience especially if it is cold windy or wet. When we arrive at a motel we expect to be able to get to our room without delay.

Good for Somewhere to SleepUnits are nicely presented. Clean, tidy with kitchenette area + table and chairs. Bathroom was very dated, but still functional. To check in we had to go to another motel up the road to collect our key. This was a little bit random! Would recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay overnight.
