  More 3 than 4 stars. Breakfast was great. Es tut mir leid...

  We thought this was a modern hotel but stayed in an old room. There wasnt any possiblity to get an upgrade because the hotel was fully booked, so we thought we will do it with an older room. That wouldent really have been a problem, but there were some things broke in the room. The door handle to the dressing was broke and even fell of, the shower rod and shower faucet were loose, and there was a strange hole fixed with adhesive tape ( see picture). When we mentioned it when checking out the only thing the receptionist said was Es tut mir leid. On the other hand the room was very clean. We also were looking at a wall throug the window. I find it really a pitty that you pay the same price for an older then for a new room. At least it could be mentioned on the reservation website. Breakfast was really great. Lots of choice , fresh fruit, eggs on demand, kind waitresses.

  Interesting Hotel/Dinner package

  We booked a two day package incl. dinner at Steinheuers Restaurant Zur Alten Post as well as an evening in the SETA restaurant. Both incl. selected wines for each course. Steinheuers was - as to be expected - a great experience, but the SETA restaurant "playing in another league" than Steinheuers, did a very good job as well. On the negative side: The suite was pretty small and they have an unusual way to charge for parking: If you stay 2 nights, they charge 3 days. Also the pool was closed, well this happens...

  Not up to expectations for ****S

  Spacious room, elegant, clean, and in very good condition. Large and modern bathroom, spotlessly clean. We had a junior suite and although the room is big and very nice, I found that a bit oversold I would rather call it a large executive or superior room. Location of the hotel is good and quiet. Anyway, the town is small, so distances are short. Good quality breakfast with good selection. However, my overall experience did not match my expectations given the fact that the hotel is advertised as 4 stars superior: The lady on duty at check in was efficient but grumpy (a smile would be nice, so would be to say excuse me or sorry, cold you repeat that instead of mmh?). Breakfast was terribly crowded and noisy, customers wanted to be seated but had to wait as several tables not cleaned up yet. A lot of things on the buffet empty, always had to ask for it to be refilled. Queue at checkout but only one guy on duty although not really surprising that everybody is checking out on a Sunday morning No coffee machine nor kettle on the room. When asking at reception (same grumpy lady), no solution offered but to wait until the restaurant opens in 10 minutes. So overall, the hardware is nice, but the software needs an update.

  Small things that matter...

  Hotel room (smart one) is nice, well designed and clean. Unfortunately there are some drawbacks that cause it is my last visit here. First of all hotel does not have any parking, AT ALL!! Receptionist instructed me to use city parking that is 500 meters away, and needed to handle my luggage at my own! Lack of mini bar in 4,5 star hotel is also something worth mentioning. Lack of phone as well And the final one lack of iron (and they are not able to bring one to the room) is hilarious, I went to business meeting without properly ironed shirt. Of course there is service, but arriving late and going out early it is not possible to use this on time. Maybe it is a good place for long term, sightseeing holidays, but do not recommend it for business purposes.

  Mixed bag but overall nice.

  Plus points included some very friendly staff members including the nice barman from Sri Lanka. Rooms a bit basic but functional. Nice pool area but dont be fooled by the claim to have a gym. Its a shoebox with 2 pieces of equipment and one does not work. We were not able to book a table for Xmas eve but staff were kind enough to find us a room where we could bring our own food. Rating based on overall stay and more upon a few kind gestures vs quality of hotel accommodation. Oh and the breakfast was fabulous.
