  Stands out for its customer service

  We have eaten (very well) here before but not stayed. Just spent three nights in a environment which felt careful and considerate in respect of keeping us COVID safe. Comfortable well appointed rooms, very good food, great quiet location. What stands out is the customer service ; warm welcome, secure store for bikes (area great for cycling), and walk/cycle of the day printed on the reverse of breakfast menus. I had a little bug second day and couldnt face dinner, I asked my husband to bring me some bread after his dinner - he returned with a plate of toast and a bowl of plain vegetable broth Chef had made for me! That was well above and beyond! Hotel is great value and a great base for this often overlooked part of Scotland. Looking forward to our next visit.

  Rip off food not quality

  Hard to leave a bad review during the pandemic however when you play £12 for a pie meal and get 7 pieces of small veg and a pie out of a foil multi pack plonked ontop it is hard not too! Really unimpressed by the food and it is not cheap! Service basic not great. Hard time for everyone in hospitality but the lack of effort and quality was stand out poor. Will not go again!

  Lovely hotel, only place to stay if you like quality, stayed before...

  I was worried about Covid, no need, place was spotless and all measures seemed to be in place to protect everyone. I stayed one night, last visit here was too long ago in 2006.... dinner B&B. Rather nice room (Room 20) with a garden view, Hotel looked great, enjoyed dinner and breakfast. Mackerel pate with toast, pickled fennel & kohlrabi to start, outstanding and then pork belly, lovely, nice croquet potatoes etc. Thank you all the workers, I think the Hotel is even better than I remember, nice staff with high standards. I will be back soon and promise not to leave it so long next time. TOP TIP Despite the fear from this awful virus I felt safe in this Hotel.

  Relaxing Stay

  Short overnight stay in Kirkcudbright. This hotel was clean and relaxing. Room was also clean, spacious and relaxing. Wifi was fine. Nice lounge area for relaxing in the hotel. The food was good overall; had dinner and breakfast during our stay and no complaints really. All as expected. Good central location for a visit and stay over. Would return. Thanks,

  Lovely place. Pleasant stay and lovely staff.

  The Selkirk Arms - I had a lovely stay at the hotel. Nice room, top-notch food, great Scottish hospitality, staff were friendly, polite and helpful and went over and above. A great place to visit if you want to relax, explore the Western Scottish coast and the surrounding areas. I will be visiting again. Thank you to the Selkirk Arms & Staff.
