    Amazing little gem

We stayed for a week, having never been to Croatia before, we will definitely be back ! It is a beautiful quiet village in the mountains and Dragana and her family cannot do enough for you. The food up at the Konoba is plentiful , well cooked and very reasonable. The apartments are lovely and clean and have everything you need, there is a small cooking area but it is so easy to find wonderful food around that you will find you dont need to but everything is there if needed. We have had such a beautiful and relaxed week , Dragana's Father is lovely :-) and will miss his friendly greetings when he passed or when we went up to the Konoba. There is a little dip pool which is glorious when it gets too hot and there are amazing walks in the area, we hope to go back later in the year for more walking when it is not as hot during the day.. I cannot recommend this place enough it is wonderful and thanks fora lovely week :-) xx You will need a car.

    Truly wonderful stay

We've just returned from the most fabulous stay. Its quite difficult to summarise it, but here goes... A beautiful, peaceful location with wonderful views of the sea in the distance. A cow, goats and donkeys for company plus the occasional friendly local. The accommodation is a converted barn with a vine covered patio area, which stayed lovely and cool. There is a c. 3x5m swimming pool suitable for kids swimming and adults relaxing. We were the only guests so had the pool to ourselves. Dragana and her father Joseph were so welcoming! Lunch of cheese, meat, bread and wine on arrival, plus a complementary evening meal at their local restaurant. How lovely!! Omis is about a 10 minute car ride down a winding road, with many restaurants in the beautiful Old Town area. Lots to do locally... Favourites included... Walk to the Fort - do-able in trainers but take water! Brela beach, although the ones just outside Omis are lovely too. Split is a fabulous city to visit - do walk up the hill for an amazing view. Also Kryka National Park, Sibernik, Trogir and a boat trip on Junior to Brac - very good value. Enjoy!!

Rustic and out of the way (An Honest Review)

This is the second time we have stayed here. If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track to enjoy mountain views that is located in a village then Gata is the place for you. We stayed in apartment 3 Seljacka Kuca and is basic but has everything you need. It is located at the back of a goat farm but if you are used to the countryside please do not let this put you off, it is rural living. The scenery is quite something mountain views at the back and view down the valley at the front. There is car parking on site and also a plunge pool and seating area, very useful as it was 29 degrees when we went. I would recommend a car as it is 3-4 miles to the beach at Omis. If you are not bother about the beach and sea it is great for walking. Locally there are a couple of supermarkets and bars, only one bar serves food. There is a local bus service but not sure if it is reliable. The owners live just down the lane and are wonderful people, I can't thank Dragna, Mama and Papa enough for their hospitality, we feel like part of the family and are always sad to leave. What to expect: Friendly owners. Lovely quiet village location. Scenery. What not to expect: 5 star accommodation, entertainment, lively action. Summary: If you are looking for 5 star accommodation then you will be disappointed but if you are looking to see and be part of the real Croatia then this is the place to be. Just relax and watch the world go by. Ideally you will need a car to get the most from your stay. Can't tell you how wonderful the owners are, this is the real reason I returned.

    Lovely quiet place

We had such a lovely stay here. The apartment was basic, but fine and spacious. Most holidays we experience there is no or really little warm water, but here it was more than fine! I really needed a peaceful stay, I didn't want to be in the middle of too much loudness of tourists and amidst nature, but not too far from liveliness. Then this place is perfect, in just 15 minutes your in Omis and in 30/40 minutes in Split. Therefore you do need a car! We enjoyed the little but lovely dip-pool and the farm next to us with goats, chickens, donkeys, cow and dog. Especially the dog and the donkeys with little ones, greeting us every morning and every return to the apartment. Dragana made us delicious food and welcomed us to the apartment. Yoseph took care of things like the pool every day and the garbage. Thank you Dragana for a wonderful stay. Extra tip: drive with children to Radmanove Mlinice! Nice food, wonderful surroundings, refreshing swims in the river Cetina (do take watershoes) and a playground with swings, seesaw, big chess and mini golf (also icecream available).

    Plenty of wildlife

We had a lovely time. We were greeted by the donkeys and goat every morning and there was also a cow in the shed next door. Good base and 10 min drive from omis. Lovely to sit by the pool in the evening. Very relaxing. Lovely meal on arrival
