More than dissapointing...My partner and i stayed here for a week in October, disappointed is nt the word. The hotel is very clean and the grounds and pool areas are well kept and tidy. Our room was dark and although very clean it had a light musty/damp smell about it. On two days, the towels were not changed and on Sundays there is no room maid. The food leaves alot to be desired and was the worst ive had in a hotel. The hot food was cold, only a couple of times it was barely warm, not really surprising as none of the food is covered and no water in the bain marie to keep it hot. Very limited choice..two cheese types, two cooked meats, fresh fruit was melon, plums and grapes, the rest were tinned peaches, pears or fruit cocktail. One type of yogurt and the same salad selection every day for breakfast, lunch and tea. Again, bread very limited choice and twice tasted stale. Fried eggs like rubber, bacon that was not bacon but looked like heated up pastrami, the omelette was awful and beans, sausages or scrambled eggs were never offered on the same day. One coffee machine for the whole dining room, no fresh fruit juices as it was cordial type from a dispenser. We ate out more than we actually ate at the hotel which isnt the point of paying for 4 star all inclusive. Very annoying was a stray dog that came into the hotel dining room every day and made itself comfortable on the sofas in the bar area in the evenings. Saw two members of staff stroking it instead of making it leave and if they did,it just came straight back in through a different door. It was wandering between the tables searching for food, jumping up at some and trying to take food out of a babys hand who was sat in a high chair, until the mother made it go away. I saw an older couple complaining about the dog at reception but the answer was just ,its a stray and that was it so no point saying anything. Lady on reception and one of the bar men were really nice but other staff not very polite or friendly. The water park was good and included for all inclusive and a bus stop is straight opposite the hotel for a trip into Chania ,a lovely old town. All in all very disappointed and wouldnt go back there, definitely not 4 star and definitely not worth the money . I have stayed in little bed and breakfasts in the UK with much better food, service and quality.

Excellent value for moneyWe stayed here for 1 week and to be honest cant really fault it. The hotel has had some bad reviews but considering we paid £38 each per night it was fine for an all inclusive. The food could have been hotter but if you asked the staff to heat it they did. Breakfast and lunch were very nice . Restaurants and bars were a 10 minute bus ride away if you fancy a change. Our bed was very hard but we asked for a mattress topper and got one no problem. The room was slightly dated but clean. Excellent WI Fi throughout. Staff were very friendly and worked hard. Lovely pool area and very relaxing holiday.

For sure not a 4 stars hotelI booked this hotel for me and my friends. It's a nice place but for sure not a 4 stars hotel. The food was awful, very poor quality and some things uneatable at all. We had all inclusive and we knew the included drinks were not branded but at least we were expecting a little bit of quality. One day two of us got food poisoning. We reported it to the receptionist and the only thing she said was "in 200 guest here you two are the only ones sick". She didn't ask how we were feeling or if we needed something she only said that she would report it to the manager. We stayed there 4 more nights, we checked out and nobody came to speak with us about it. Unbelievable. One more unbelievable thing was that on Sunday after lunch we went back to the room and it was not been refreshed so on my way down to the pool I asked reception and the 2 receptionists laughed at me as I was saying something ridiculous and told me that there was no service to the room on Sunday. Is this a 4 star hotel? I could go on mentioning other thing for hours as I work in the industry (in a 4 stars hotel) and I can assure this is not one!

HolidayWe arrived at the Selini Suites in the evening, check in was swift and easy. Our room was lovely and clean spacious and overall very good the view was gorgeous. The public areas are well maintained and kept lovely. The food was nice but serious lack of choice on the hot buffet side which really let the place down. Stamatis at the pool bar during the day is an assett, smiley and chats with you. Other bar staff are miserable and do not interact. Location slightly remote but buses are regular and easy to get around. Platanias is lovely and worth a visit. Chania town is def worth a visit. The weather wasnt too kind when we were there but it didnt dampen our holiday. Would def go back to Crete so lovely but not to Selini..for me the food put me off. All in all a lovely break x thanks

NOT 4 star Luxury as advertised at best 2 starOn arrival we were allocated a room in the main hotel. This room was very poor standard and in no way any were near a 4 star as advertised. The room was dark and dated with old furniture. the bed was two singles pushed together and as hard as sleeping on the floor. The room smelt musty. This was not represented in the pictures on web site. Moving to the bathroom there were light fittings hanging out of the ceiling with wires showing looked dangerous. the bath was very tatty looking with mould around the tiles , the bath seal was dirty and had been repaired many times so was scruffy. the tiles on the floor were cracked and broken in some places. The shower curtain was mouldy and there was a smell of drains. The balcony was supposed to have a sea view not in my view. There were many areas with plaster coming off and rust. The restaurant was clean but dated, The food was of poor standard. the food that was supposed to be warm was only luke warm at best and limited. There were flies around the salad bar no insect o cutor in sight. There were dogs and cats allowed to roam around the restaurant inside and out which is not hygienic. There was only 1 coffee machine for the entire restaurant which was slow. The juice machine served weak tasteless juice again only 1 machine. For evening meals limited choice and luke warm again. Local beer , wine, and pop only. They did offer branded drinks but extra 4.5 euros each. There own local drinks tasted all the same no difference between whisky brandy ,vodka and there so called cocktails. We did ask for a different room the ones in the main hotel were all the same so we were offered an upgrade but at a cost, two choices 15 euros per night and 30 euros per night we looked at both the extra 15 euros a night was not much better and border line 3 star accommodation. the second choice was in a new block and better but still only boarder line 4 star. so we agreed to pay the extra 30 euros a night total cost 270 euros. Plus an extra 33 euros room tax. Just adding insult to injury a family who moved into the room next to us in the new block were given a free upgrade we could not believe this so asked at reception who told me they were given the upgrade free by their tour operator after they complained. The hotel was in no way fully occupied in fact in the new block 90 percent of the rooms were empty. The swimming pools looked clean but were empty due to the fact they freezing the sea was warmer can not under stand why they are not temperature maintained.
