Personalized and family-like - a home away from home

A very well-run small family hotel where you feel you belong - A welcome change to the massive chain hotels where your room is one of hundreds if not more. Excellent communication between hotel guests (I mean, those willing to banter and chit chat) Great service and food for a three-star accommodation. I mean, don't pay for a bicycle and expect a Harley-Davidson. Very pleasant surrounding for walking and shopping - a 20-minute walk to the ancient city of Side. My only complaint is that the hot water for the shower was not always up to scratch, although this complaint was dealt with promptly. This however was a recurring problem. Hotel staff speaks fluent English, German and Turkish. Great place if you're looking for tranquility, nice weather in winter.

    Horrid receptionist

My experience of this hotel was horrendous . Not one word of English was spoken all week except when we was late out of the room and they said they wanted 100 dollar . Horrid receptionist needs sacking in my opinion. Food disgusting we eaten out every day never ever would I go back there to that hotel. Loved Turkey but horrid hotel.

    Dear God...never again

My reviews are of course , my personal opinion, however, I'm begging would be guests to read on. We arrived early hours,to be told they were over booked, and we would be transferred to another hotel and back for breakfast, not a great start. Then the trouble began. The hotel they wanted us to use only had a single bed, so one of us could go,one of us must stay in reception...absolutely shocking. So ,after a very heated discussion, conducted via Google translate because staff only spoke German,a room miraculously appeared. This was an economy double, which we accepted for one night only, firmly stating we expected to be given the type of room we paid for . Hours later,we were told they were massively over booked,so no room available, and the rude, aggressive manager steps in with his limited English. Again, argument via Google. Finally, after hours waiting,we were given a room with two single beds, .The food is terrible, same every evening, breakfast left overs reused at lunch and dinner. The alcohol is also terrible quality. I am the first person to say you get what you pay for,but in this instance,we did not.No reception staff speak English, some restaurant staff do but that is no good if you have a problem.there are four floors, no lift.mouldy beds left on the landing, cleaning is superficial, although the ladies tried their best.I have no positive comments, please do yourself a favour and take your cash elsewhere.Best thing about here was checking out.

    Exceptionally bad

Selenium is a budget 3-star hotel and i haven't really had any previous experience staying in places like this - this experience was horrendous. I'll walk you step by step over our (me + gf) 3 night stay frustrations: 1. No English language. Whatever the staff speaks here, it's not English and you will not be able to communicate in English. We have used online translator for this matter, and even with that, the communication was frustrating. 2. No internet. Technically it exists, and after 10-15 minutes trying to explain your need to staff, you will be able to actually connect just to see it is extremely slow and not actually useful at all. You can barely use text messengers, and that's it. Forget about other things you could do in the internet while you are here. I have to say though, on the big beach (managed by the hotel) the internet is much better and is actually comfortable, but you'll have to get there (30 minutes by foot). 3. TV channels in Turkish / German. Usually not a big deal for people, and watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Turkish was kinda fun :D 4. Air condition is barely enough to keep you alive in the heat. In our room, we couldn't set the "Cool" mode, it was somehow unavailable on the remote, i suspect this works for other rooms too. Someone said they are saving money, perhaps this is the reason? 5. The elevator is still not working. Judging from the previous reviews, it's not working for several years at this point. My bet is it will not work for you too, whenever you decide to visit this place. Also some other things do not work, like fans above the bar counter. 6. Very poor breakfast. I don't mind simple food and i'm usually happy with whatever i get, especially when i'm hungry. We got boiled eggs, some sausage, cheese, bread and veggies (tomatoes, cucumbers). That's it, for each day. 7. There are some rules you have to follow - you can't get anything edible, like food or water, inside the hotel from the outside. You also can't get hotel towels outside on the beach. There are more rules like these, the point of them - you have to spend more money inside the hotel, buying extremely overpriced water, etc. If you break the rules, you won't get punished, but the attitude and atmosphere around your stay will worsen. 8. We didn't get any cleaning service for 2.5 days. When we confronted the hotel boss about it, he said we'll have to wait for the next day. 9. If there are only few people in the hotel, some other free offers become unavailable too - like free shuttle to the big beach by the hotel (30 minutes by foot). Saving money again? I guess that's it. Make your choice, and choose wisely :)

    Awful from start to finish

If I could give no stars it would be more appropriate. Our rep was great, arranged trips and days out but that was the only highlight of this awful hotel! Staff- rude and barely spoke English Hotel- includes pool but mainly shaded all day Beach- they offer a free bus service to private section on beach but food drinks not included in all inclusive Staff very rude when going to a different beach, trips etc as not spending money there All inclusive ends at 10pm Food- checked out options daily but never completed a meal there! Breakfast options watermelon, tomatoes, cucumber, cheese, ham, boiled eggs and potato wedges! Lunch is 12:30 - 13:30 and dinner starts at 19:30, awful and limited options available.
