    japanese/western room stay

    Our stay was for one night as part of a Japanese tour group which included the dinner and breakfast buffet which had a good array of food and drink (beer additional but reasonably priced). I cannot vouch for the price of our stay as it was part of our tour package. We were given a spacious room that had two twin beds and an adjoining tatami living room and a side sitting area, very spacious for two of us, could have fit a family. The beds were very firm so I opted for sleeping in the tatami room by setting up the Japanese futon bedding which was conveniently located in the closet. Room had a humidifier which was needed due to the winter air being so dry on sinuses. Very clean and fresh yet still traditional vibe. The pajamas given which can be worn in the common areas when going to the onsen & meals looked a little like peasant type clothes compared to other onsen I have stayed at that give yukata. But it is very organic & comfy and so I guess in line with natural surroundings. Upgraded yukata could be rented for a small upcharge if that is important to you but we opted for free version. Onsen area very clean located in separate wing and we used this instead of bath/shower in room which is the whole point of stay in a place like this. I enjoyed my stay here as it mixes traditional without being run down. Gift shop had a lot of food stuffs for omiyage gifts too, it seemed the staff usually has one person who can speak english if needed.
