The view is magnificent. Hotel a bit run down, needs a little refreshing. My mother and I stayed here because there was excellent advertising for it on the road ways leading to town. The reception staff was very friendly, even though he did not speak English well. The room was clean and spacious, but was dated. When I describe the hotel to my friends, I tell them it is like I had stepped back into the late 60's. The whole place was charming in its almost kitschy nature. I could sense and see what this place had been in its prime, and I really wish I could have seen it (and I hope they do give it the face lift it deserves). There is a hotel and bar on site with friendly staff. We had free WiFi and a large balcony. The rooms were large and well kept, but felt old and were not as modern or 'fancy' as the pictures that are on the websites for the hotel. It needs a little refurbishing to spruce it up a bit, but overall this was a very memorable place and its charisma gives it a boost in my rating of it.

Great view and the 70s revisited! We found this on the off chance as we drove past. The views from all the rooms are spectacular, stretching for as far as the eye can see. At 70 for a double room, the price was sensible and the outdoor swimming pool warm and inviting (even at 7.30pm). The hotel was very quiet (one or two travelling salesmen) and the manageress(?) was exceptionally friendly and accommodating (having spent time living in Lowestoft, she was bilingual). Dinner in the hotel restaurant, at 22 for a three course meal, was perfectly respectable. And the decor? Yes, it does look like a set from a 70s film, but it is clean, smart and actually feels quite new.... it's just the style. If you're into retro, you'll love it. If not....does it really matter?!

Great views, pity about the traffic.I stopped here on a holiday trip with my wife. Unfortunately there hadn't been many TripAdvisor reviewers there before so we didn't find out about the incredibly noisy main road (the N88 that takes a huge number of HGVs from Toulouse to Clermont-Ferrand and Lyon seemingly RIGHT PAST YOUR WINDOW) until we got there. In fact we took a quick drive up to the local village, Baraqueville, which has to be one of the most depressing places I've been to in France, and were amazed at the amount of traffic passing through - in fact, it's no wonder the locals are so miserable if they have to put up with that all day AND NIGHT. Sorry to shout, but I drafted this review while I was still in the hotel after suffering a very bad night. The hotel is big but dated - probably 1970s kitsch. And it certainly needs some maintenance. My worst nightmare was trying to have a shower in the bath with the shower rose situated at a suitable height for a midget, and the whole contraption falling apart as I stood there covered in shampoo, trying to adjust it upwards. There are no airconditioners that I could find, and the room had been roasting in the sun all day so that's why we had to open the windows to let in some air, and the noise of the HGVs. Anyway, two positives to finish off with. First, the view is amazing - 'Plein Ciel' means something like 'Full Sky' in English and it certainly lives up to its name. Secondly, the Lady-from-Lowestoft mentioned by one of the other reviewers is still there, still very pleasant, and running a superb menu in the restaurant. So that at least removed some of the pain. But the answer to your question, no, I certainly wouldn't stay here again unless the place had a proper renovation and airconditioning installed in every bedroom. Rather go to Rodez just down the road which seems very nice and has a lot of good hotels in the centre to allow you to get out and about.

An unexpected very nice surpriseWe booked this en route at the last minute, just as a stop at the right place on a long journey. We really had a good surprise when we turned up and found we'd got a little balcony with a brilliant view and there was even a swimming pool (although we didn't get to use it). The staff were very helpful and even loaned us a corkscrew from the bar for a bottle of wine we had with us! We'd missed the dining time, arriving quite late in the evening, but had a fab impromptu picnic on the balcony, with drinks from the bar and our own wine as well. It's true it's not the most modern hotel but that's not always the most important thing, it was good, reasonable and welcoming.
