  Amazing view

  We stayed in this hotel for forth times last week since 2005. Amazing views over the lake Luzern, clean rooms with friendly staff (only one restaurant worker was not polite but it does not exceeds to the rest of the personal).

  Beautiful views but resting on its laurels

  I have rarely stayed in a hotel with a better view - truly truly stunning. We felt overall however that the hotel was very overpriced for the value and overall level of service. It didn't help that there was an error in our bill (which they corrected). On arrival we were told it was Swiss National Day and were offered the BBQ option. This was pretty expensive so I asked what else was available - the answer was nothing and if we wanted something in the village we had better book quickly. Being a bit tired I thought - we may as well get in the spirit. However, the BBQ was "cooked to order" - no Swiss efficiency here - so the queues were extensive which meant that we didn't really get what we wanted. That made it a SUPER expensive meal for the overall value. On two occasions me and my children were essentially "shooed off" from places we were sitting. Once when we were in the only outside seating the hotel has (extraordinary when you consider the view) as they were setting up for dinner and once when we went indoors to get out of the rain on the night of the bbq, where we sat in the "wrong seats". Nothing major but we just felt we were getting underfoot and not particularly welcomed. So, all in all, I couldn't recommend for overall value. They could do so much more with it.

  Great view, good dinner and ordinary room

  I came to the hotel for a one night stay with a friend after hiking in Beckenried and going golfing in Sempach the day after. The hotel has a fantastic location on top of the hill with magnificent view over Vierwaldstättersee. The restaurant is really good and offers wine from a local handler (that also imports wine). The hotel appears to mainly target group visitors for things as seminars. This means that some small things are missed eg very small rooms, no proper glasses in the room, no water or minibar and no body lotion. The room gives feeling of a motel, but its all clean, the surrounding of wonderful and the staff friendly & service minded.

  Great 2 days

  The Panorama from the Hotel is excellent. We had BBQ Dinner on July 31st with live Swiss Music. The Büffet was more than excellent. Everything was perfect inclusive the Sunset and Weather 33c. Very friendly Personal. The breakfast was good and again with a Great See View Panorama. The Pool was good with a nice view to the Mountains. A very nice Place. Very romantic and relaxing. In the whole Hotel there Are no Ventilators or air condition. In the Small Room It was a nightmare Without a Ventilator. Our dog Labrador suffered a Lot. The balcón was nice with an excellent See view. A place to go but dont Forget to take your Ventilator. For sure we will come back but with a big Ventilator. Yesterday at 10 pm we had Firewalls in the Hotel . Was very nice in Addition to the fantastic see and Mountains view.

  Quiet, relaxed hotel

  The hotel is located on a hill above the lake and the small town of Emmetten. It's very quiet due to its location, the views are wonderful - over the lake and the mountains. The rooms are fairly standard for Swiss hotels, decent size, very-very clean. Good bathroom (with shower), excellent light, everything works well. It was a bit hot when we stayed there, had to open the window which was no problem as the area is very quiet, there's no traffic. The hotel has a decent swimming pool, it can get busy and noisy when many guests are in, the size is good though. It also has some massage jets, the water is not too hot and is comfortable to swim. The restaurant was a bit disappointing, though to be honest the value for money of the half-pension is excellent (given that guests are a captive market at the moment). The food is a tad too salty and overcooked, desserts were even a tad burnt or dry. Breakfast is a decent one for Europe too - hot dishes (eggs, bacon), cold cuts, cheeses, veggies, joghurt, muesli, fruit. The evening set-up could be a bit better - e.g. there are no bread plates and one has to ask for butter - these are minor complaints though! The area is nice, there walking and hiking opportunities in the hills. The best thing about the hotel is the staff - everyone is very-very nice and helpful. We felt very well looked after and had a relaxing weekend walking and swimming.
