  9 Day Break

  We decided to stay out of HK on this visit so choose this place ,came straight from the airport , had a bit of a walk from the spot where the taxi dropped us off so beware if you have lots of luggage or problems with mobility, The hotel looks a little shabby but the entrance is clean and we found the people on the desk friendly, we had a room on the first floor and could see the sea, 1, tiny room , by far the smallest weve seen in HK , and weve stayed in 10 different places at least, 2, air con good not too noisy, 3 , bathroom clean , shower works well, hot water, shaver point, clean towels, 4, good size bed very comfortable, clean sheets , 2 pillows, only one side had a table, no plugs though so had to charge phone by television , was a pain at night, as my husband had to get up for work and uses his phone as an alarm, 5 , tiny account of space to unpack suitcase, we were here for 9 days and my clothes were creased and I had nowhere to put them. See photo, 6 , only coffee provided in room, no tea, mugs werent replaced , 7, fridge froze the water , also insulin, my husband is diabetic, no way of turning it down 8, light outside window kept us awake at night, 9, walls quite thin so could hear people talking , babies crying, and dogs barking, 10, drilling woke us up before 7 several mornings on the trot, If we had been able to hang our clothes up and unpack out suitcase the lack of room would have been fine, but to have to keep dragging the suitcase out and have creased clothing wasnt my idea of a relaxing break, Breakfast was not good unfortunately, I was unaware of larger rooms when we booked and paid for this room and had we been we may have enjoyed our stay , would try somewhere else next time.

  Nice hotel in a tranquil place

  Mui Wo is a very picturesque village on the side of Lantau Island opposite from the airport. There are not many choices for staying there, and this is one of 2-3 hotels there. The hotel is pretty nice, it is right across from the beach. The check-in process was smooth. The rooms are very small, just a bit bigger than the bed, and the bathroom is really tiny. A big person (6' or so) would find it tough to fit in the shower. But the water is hot and the pressure fantastic. The bed is very comfortable. There is not much space to put your clothes and other stuff. I had to keep most of mine in the suitcase. The first day, there was water, coffee and cookies in the room. The subsequent days I asked for the cookies but did not get any - just the water and coffee. The cleaning service works only in the morning, so if you sleep in late, you miss it. The breakfast is a fixed menu that changes every day. Not much for vegetarians/vegans, since the bulk of it is animal based. They also do not give you a larger quantity of the non-animal stuff if you are vegetarian/vegan. You have to pay an additional $10 (HKD) if you want corn flakes - even if you haven't eaten their breakfast. There is no lift, you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the two upper levels. Overall it was a good hotel for the price, and I would stay again - but I would try the other choices first just to make sure they are not better.

  Surprise

  Definitely a hidden gem off the beaten track and worth the quick ferry ride out of central to discover a different Hong Kong. Great staff service and I can't wait to revisit this beach side charming destination

  Hidden Gem !

  We were three families , a group of 11 and enjoyed our Stay at this small, clean and functional hotel. Link, the manager was very nice and ensured we had a good stay. The location of the hotel is a few feet away from the beach and we enjoyed drinks and coffee on the beach. The beach itself wasn't overly crowded. Although the WiFi wasn't the best it didn't bother us too much .

  Nice and cosy

  Staff are nice and friendly,rooms are really nice and the breakfast is great,a hundred times better than the Silvermine Hotel. Ask about when you will get your deposit back though,as that system is a bit strange.
