OK Property; Mediocre ServiceI stayed here for 3 nights... The rooms are basic and clean. The large tub in the bathroom was nice (no jets or anything, just large). The shower was decent, warm water was working ok. There was a bit of a stinky smell in the toilet area which couldn't be removed, even after cleaning by housekeeping. Luckily it didn't creep out into the bedroom area so it wasn't a big deal. In general the room was nothing special, just a solid basic accommodation. The breakfast was included and good. There was bread with spreads (peanut butter, chocolate, butter). The hotel staff lady made the eggs on the spot when you arrive to the lobby for breakfast. They seem to arbitrarily choose the type of egs they make each day. I prefer scrambled so I just made sure to inform her before she started. The eggs typically came with a couple of chicken nuggets on the side. During our stay we only encountered 2 ladies working as hotel staff. 1 lady spoke zero English. The other lady spoke limited English. I was with my Chinese girlfriend on this trip, so for me there was no issue with language limitations. I did see a couple other Westerners staying there. I believe you can survive staying here despite the English limitations. I just doubt if they'd be able to be very helpful if you're looking for advice on things to do and places to go. However, the English limitations would be a potential huge problem for you if you encountered the screwed up situation we were faced with while staying here. We booked 3 nights via Agoda. On the morning after the 2nd night we received a surprise and unwelcome phone call from the front desk (around 10am) stating that we had to check out (by 12pm) and change hotels for our final night. We called Agoda to complain (since it was via Agoda that we had been confirmed for 3 nights) and after 2+ hours of back and forth "negotiation" with the hotel through the Agoda rep, the situation was resolved. In short, my understanding is that the hotel overbooked to accommodate a large group and tried to push their problem onto us by moving us to another hotel. They tried to offer some pretty lame offers to negotiate us to check-out, but I refused. Finally they gave up and moved some other poor chap. To make it worse, during this 2+ hour negotiatiing period, the housekeeping opened our door and came into the room saying they needed to clean. Not acceptable. For this reason alone I would be very hesitant to recommend this hotel. It's bad business to treat your customers this way. The other feedback I'd like to mention is that when my girlfriend asked them for advice for things to do, she felt like the attitude/response from the front desk lady was not very hospitable/insightful. They spoke in Chinese so I couldn't understand, but this was her feedback. In the end we decided to try their recommended driver for 4 hours. I can't recall the exact cost but I think it was around $40-$50 USD. The car was comfortable and air conditioned. The driver was too overbearing though. He was trying to be helpful in pointing out things at each of our stops along the way but it was too much. In summary, the property itself is acceptable BUT the hotel staff don't seem interested in stepping up when it comes to providing customer service in a way that would encourage repeat visits or word of mouth referrals.

OK, if your not expecting muchIf you only care about the basics such as having a decent bed, a spacious balcony with a nice view, fridge, nice range of tv channels, toiletries, and running hot water, then this place is fine. It's a short walk from the main road, and close to a OK mart. If you get hungry at night, it won't be a problem. However, it's the quality and cleanliness of the place that really bothered us. The persistent smell in the bathroom of body odour was creepy, the towels felt like they've been re-used a hundred times, and a lot of the finer details like mirror frames, bed frames, and the bathroom in general was really dusty and dirty. We tried to stay away from the washroom as much as possible. Also, there was not enough lighting in the bathroom and bedroom. Service was almost non-existent, except that the lady at the front desk would sometimes greet us when we returned. When asked about getting cabs, she said that they don't provide transportation services. I think my friend booked our trip with breakfast included too, but they probably didn't even know unless they go back and check their booking records, and they didn't bother to ask or say anything during check in. Oh well, we ate breakfast outside anyways.

Comfortable hotel with good locationWe have stayed here for 3nights with my kid. We have reserved just a standard room with big bath tub. The view was not nice as it was only facing the building. And of course, you can have something better if you pay more to stay on higher floor VIP room. However, the room was spacious and with seperate standing shower room and hugh bath tub. The only things that might needs some improvements may be they need to upgrade their towels with better quality as they are bit hard. Bedding was huge and comfortable with good duvet. It would be nice if they can add some hooks or hangers in bathroom as nothing is available. We enjoyed the location as it was only one street behind the main street and it only takes less than 5mins walk back to hotel. Service was great and mainly due to Ms. Lau's friendly service on all areas (e.g. pick up/drop off service, sight seeing etc.) She even assist us trying to connect with my son's web homework (athough we are still unsuccessful in the end). We have freshly home made set breakfast daily and if you don't like it, you can still find some restaurant located on main street that opens for breakfast. Please don't compare it with buffet breakfast in big cities. One day city tour is strongly recommendable as it covers most must see places at very reasonable price. Please ask hotel people for reservation and prices is even cheaper than some other hostels located on main street. I would definitely return to this hotel next time and please keep up your good service.
