  Sweet, retro

  Sea Ranch Lodge is a famous old place that has the feel of something that would have been spectacular in the 1970s. It's still really nice, with lovely accommodations and wonderful people in a beautiful spot. The restaurant was very good too. But renovations are due. It was nice to be able to bring my dog, but the $75 price per night for a 5# toy Yorkie was a bit much!

  Not a surprise they are closed for good.

  I knew as soon as I met the GM Paul, that this place couldnt last long. My boyfriend and I spent a good while drinking wine and watching the game in the bar area. I watched Paul treat the wait staff cruelly, talking to certain locals boasting about himself, and how great this place is now because of him and then ignoring other locals/other patrons that actually needed assistance. He told a couple to leave when they went to him with a concern, and finished his meandering by drinking at the bar. Both of of have worked in the food service industry for years and from the moment we saw him we had an icky vide. The way the servers changed in their boy language when he approached. Apparently he got fired. Should have happened way before it did. Just looking at his responses on this website proves what a condescending dick he is.

  Update

  Sadly, the Sea Ranch Lodge is closed and up for sale. We are all hopeful that a buyer will come along and restore it to its former glory. The views and ambience are too wonderful not to take advantage of. Time will tell.

  Quiet, calm and relaxing

  Short trip with wife and 2 little ones. Plenty to do and see, hikes along the beach, surrounded by coastal nature. Make sure you stop in Petaluma to do your shopping, the markets in Gualala have slim pickings.

  Lodge is Closed until 2020

  Thought this update might be helpful. After being sold, Lodge has been closed for a pending total remodel. As of early August 2019 there has not been a lot of activity. It appears that a dumpster was just recently delivered and its not like there has been a fleet of contractors trucks parked in front during the week so perhaps work is just getting started (?). Access to the Lodge parking lot is now blocked by a temporary gate on which a sign says Closed for Remodeling. See you in 2020. Id guess based on what Ive seen it will be well into 2020.
