    Sea Mountain Stay

I recommend Sea Mountain for those that want a quiet get away from the hussle and bustle of the big city. Groceries are a handful of miles away and major shopping is in Hilo which is an hour plus drive. Great location though with the black sand beach within walking distance. Very quiet and dark at night as it was nice to be somewhat away from everything. Well maintained property inside and out.

    Sea Mountain Resort

Beautiful Place Sea Mountain Resort The staff couldnt of been any kinder or helpful with all our needs and questions. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of daily. Our apartment was clean and had all the amenities you could need. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub and BBQ a few dinners

Far from the Maddening Crowd . . .

If you are looking for peace and quiet and getting in tune with nature, Sea Mountain is an ideal place to stay. No nearby stores or restaurants so be sure to bring with you plenty of groceries. Our unit was clean and well-equipped, especially with kitchen supplies. We loved sitting on the patio, listening to the rumble of the nearby ocean crashing into the shore, and watching the joyful antics of the local birds, who take full advantage of a pretty water feature on the property. The pool area is very pleasant, with a wonderful assortment of colorful flowers around the perimeter, and some nice paintings by a local artist in the bathrooms and BBQ area. Taking walks around the area is fascinating as you can see how nature is slowly reclaiming the golf course, which has now been closed for a couple of years. There are paths through the thick vegetation, leading to a rocky shoreline, with some small tide pools and quiet lagoons. The biggest highlight around here, however, is the magnificent black sand beach at the base of Ninole Loop Road. Sea turtles haul themselves out of the water here, something you don't want to miss. Overall, the Sea Mountain resort is great value for the money and we would very much like to return!

    Better than anticipated.

After reading some past comments I was impressed by the entire experience. Lovely woman at check in, was very informative and friendly. The suite was very clean and much larger than anticipated. The pool area has a great view of the water and the lava rock hot tub was just perfect! We stopped at the food truck in Punaluu and just reheated it at Sea Mountain. The kitchen is very well equipped. Had we known there was a gas grill we would have cooked. You need to bring food and beverage as the nearest store is about 20 minutes away. The grounds are meticulously manicured and very pretty. Overall great value.

    Very quiet and secluded.

We loved staying here one night on the way to Hawaii Volcanoes national Park. Place is very close to the Puna'alu Black Sand Beach. We saw lots of endangered Sea Turtles there. Our condo included a washer and dryer. Soap is available at the front desk for $2. Walking on the abandoned golf course was rather spooky...the old club house looks like it was haunted! Even though the buildings look older and dated, the insides were nicely renovated with new fixtures and appliances. Prices are reasonable for the Big Island.
