    Do Not Book- Terrible Experience!!

This property is falsely advertised and missold. All the negative Trip Advisor comments are completely correct. At a push this hotel would be lucky to revieve a 2 star rating if reviewed and quality checked by Expedia in person. Firstly at checkin I was already skeptical about the property condition and service. We were allocated room 12 and on walking into the room I could have cried. The room was dirty, mouldy, damp and in awful condition. The door did not feel safe as it was made of mdf and just a slight push felt like it could break through (same for a filled boarded up window above the bed). The walls were damp and the bedding a rough thin stained filled sheet and awful mattress. The windows didnt close fully and curtains not wide enough to cover windows letting in unwated light and breaking sleep. The ceiling in the room and balcony were coming down and in disgusting condition. The safe was old and just placed on the floor- not even attached. The bathroom was so dirty with mould and grime and limescale. I was scared to even touch plugs or get in the shower. The rooms claim to be soundproofed but you could hear every whisper in surrounding rooms and dogs barking all over property. Coffee and tea facilities were advetised in rooms and non existent. When i requested a cup/glass to pour my own drink the hotel could not supply this and none in rooms. Immediately I went to reception to ask for a refund so i could just leave and find a new hotel for the night. The lady on reception called her manager who said they cant change their policy so no refund possible. She showed me a new room which she agreed was in the exact same condition. I was so upset and let down with Expedia for allowing people to book this falsely advertised hotel and especially at $148 and also the hotel for not showing any sympathy or care to resolve the situation. When I asked to speak to the manager it was like a conincidence that they could no longer get hold of them. The hotel was so poor and in a terrible condition that I left the keys there and kept my belongings In my car. It took me 2 hours of phone calls to try get hold of expedia and no luck. In the end I had to waste one hour of my one day and night in port Antonio to find somewhere in wifi and use the expedia chat function. I spoke with a lady called Andrea who stated she would try get hold of someone at the hotel. This went on for about 30-45 minutes and the manager of the property refused to refund. I'm so let down as to what I have been sold and feel this is a fraudulently advertised sale and service. As for the resort claiming to have a spa- this hasn't even been built as advised by Receptionist. I'm not expecting the manager to take ownership of the issues as he is so defensive In other Trip Advisor responses but I have image and video evidence. For those commenting with glorious reviews, are you friends or family of the owner? Have you been paid to leave a great review? Or have you just never experience a true 3* rating plus! The manager needs to learn some skills in admitting liability and customer service. The policies are made by him/owner and working in hospitality myself I am fully aware can be adapted when the reason is fair and legitimate. My advice to anyone booking this resort- book a hostel for $20 or nearby bnbs/eco resorts. You will pay a fraction of the cost and recieve quality and service much greater than sea cliff resort. I will deffinately be putting further complaints into Expedia and taking further action against this experience. Expedia need to drop this hotel to 1/2* and charge around $38 a night to justify the experience. Cant upload all images as Trip Advisor only allows for 10. Please dont make the same mistake we did we went my Expedia great reviews. Listen to the negative reviews- they will all tell you the same and so many people who have booked the hotel left after one night or didnt even stay the first night.

    Bucket List Worthy

This hidden gem was the perfect weekend getaway. Food was amazing (not exaggerating), friendly staff, clean property. Kudos to the owner, Brett and manager, Terrence who made us have an awesome stay! Ideal for groups and couples. Due to the uncertain weather we didnt venture outside of the hotel (not even for drinks or food) but we had fun nonetheless by the pool with the swim up bar and simply enjoying the scenery around us. My only suggestions would be to bring a board game or two and a few snacks/drinks for in the night if you stay up late (kitchen closes at 6pm due to curfew - which is totally understandable). Sea Cliff is bucket list worthy!

A great way to get away

Hotel is very tropical appeal. I had room 1 on the first level. Word of advice please only take nonstop flights if possible. Just getting to the place was an adventure in itself. As I had arrived close to 7pm I had my colleague Junior who is also the proprietor for the best jerk chicken in the entire country Island Taste Jerk look for them on IG. It was approximately 17 miles to the Sea Cliff Hotel which took me down many winding roads through this densely tropical forest. Beware of the dogs as it was late. I did not feel safe getting out of the car to be surrounded by these ferocious creatures. I conjured up enough spirit to get out of the car wave my colleague adieu and go inside. The management left the key inside the door for me how nice of them. The was a hammock in the back patio of my room so I enjoyed cool ocean breeze as the breaking waves crashed onto the shore so serene. I eventually was curious and decided to explore the enchanted paradise. I was quickly ushered back to my room by the guard dogs. I went to sleep. I woke up the next morning for breakfast. I had the pleasure of meeting two of the managers that morning Monique which offered me an even better rate if I were to pay her in full the balance in US dollars. Terrell the kitchen manager whom provided his friend drive me to town at 4am on two separate occasions for $60 dollars They had no Internet plus the situation with the dogs. I luckily agreed. That part aside there were some positive secluded quiet hotel. Free breakfast and dogs if you are an animal lover. The negative no Internet. Please have your own personal Mi-Fi device if you wish to stay here and negotiate with Monique before hand the rate in US dollars.
