  Serendipity means a "fortuitous happenstance" or "pleasant surprise"

  Let me begin by reevaluating the Post Hotel as "good" - for which Trip Advisor has not established as a rating. Overall, my five day stay was pleasant and had an "at home" feeling. If I return to the Zillertal region, I would book my stay at the Post Hotel in Fuegen. First impressions: The windows and mirrors sparkled a reflection of cleanliness, but the carpeting needed to be vacuumed. The bed and bath linens were of hospital quality cleanliness. The bathroom was adequate, however the sink stopper was non-operational. The liquid soap had solidified. And the shower was as confining as an Austrian phone booth. The matress and pillow were comfortable. The closets had ample space for storage. The bedroom walls needed to be painted, more than just touch-up. And the chipped picture frame should be replaced. The lighting was very good. Plenty of outlets in the room. The private balcony provided a fine vista. The meals - breakfast buffet and dinner - were fair to very good. Single men were seated in the restaurant, couples in the dining room and a group in the banquet area. Lasting Impression: Despite its faults, it's a good bang for the buck. And the staff, including the owner, were exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. The atmosphere was most serendipitous. The day began with a smiling waitress serving finely brewed coffee. That set the tone for a bright and cheerful day, even though the sun was hiding.

  Not really 4 stars

  We stayed 4 nights in the hotel. The food is good and the infrastructure with the pool is good as well. The rooms & are nearly 3 stars and not 4. Everything around is close and handy to use for families with young kids.

  Wonderful tea and cake

  When we came down from the cable car we stopped for tea/cake and beer here. I asked for Camomile tea and a cake. I was bought a lovely pot (yes tea pot) of Camomile tea and the most wonderful cake made from Quark. It was very, very nice.
