  Not bad at all

  We stayed there in late June, a couple in our twenties. The place is in general nice, without any luxury and a bit worn out, but not bad at all, especially considering the price. It would be nice if the hotel staff spoke at least some basic level English, beyond the simplest expressions. Another beneficial addition could be at least some transportation possibility to the nearest town except for the taxi which was very overpriced and difficult to get. For the ones expecting any entertainment the place would probably be a disappointment, because the hotel is more or less in the middle of nowhere and the nearest bar along with shops and restaurants is half an hour walk away through dark streets. Happily we were not looking for much entertainment and had a nice quiet, sunny, relaxing vacation by the pool (which was nice and clean). Also we rented a car, which was a good decision, as it brought some diversity to the week: we visited Lecce, Alberobello and Zoo safari in Fasanolandia which were all about 50 km away. That Zoo safari actually by far exceeded our expectations- I would surely recommend it to anyone who likes animals. In general, we were quite happy with our vacation in Puglia.

  Excellent!

  A fantastic place to spend holydays. Landscape, position of the hotel, service, food, personal staff, possibilities of visiting other lovely places and cities around, everything reccomend this hotel as being the top of any wishes! A place we will always return with great pleasure!

  Showers only suitable for midgets

  Staff only speak Italian but are friendly. Rooms are large with some with a sea view. we were in block with 35 rooms seven of which are in the basement. You have to go outside to get to the restaurant. It was very windy while there and cold to go to the restaurant. Rooms are also cold with no heating but air conditioning. You can not sit in the rooms without a jacket on. Matreses so old and saggy that it is impossible to sleep on them. There was a sofa bed in the room and I had to sleep on that. Slow internet in rooms. The shower unit was less than two feet square and the shower control unit came into the middle of this space so it was impossible for any adult to get a proper shower with the folding shower door closed. There was the normal bidet which Anglo Saxons use as urinals. Toiletries only for one night provided and when complained were provided with some more shower gel but not again without asking. Very thin towels which did not dry overnight so it was impossible to have a dry towel in the morning if you took a shower in the evening. Hair dryer in bathroom beside bathroom mirror. thin towel also provided beside the bidet. Room had a oven/hot plates, sink and fridge but no utensils. Broken table and two plastic garden chairs in room and no chairs on balcony. The vegetables were stone cold in the restaurant even when arriving as soon as they opened. Brocoli, cauliflower, beans, carrots pumpkin and spinach. There was a joint of beef the first evening and a joint of pork on the 3rd evening alternating with local sausage and meat balls. There was also a fish dish every evening. There was a salad bar with the rabbit eating women of lettuce, tomatoes, beetroot and sweet corn but only oil and no salad cream. On two days there was a soup and every day there were several varieties of pasta many of which were very hard. Desert was rationed on the first evening I was complained at when I tried to take a second tiny cube of cake. On 2nd and 4th evenings the desert was either an orange or an apple.The last evening there was a bowl of one small scoop of ice cream There was no mineral water available and the only drinks available was a bottle of beer, a bottle of white wine or a bottle of red wine. No wine by the glass. Only one type of beer and and only type of white wine and only one type of red wine. If you needed mineral mwater you had to bring your own in. Jugs of tap water were on the tables. From the 3rd morning a bowl of yoghurt appeared at breakfast time and there was pineapple and prunes available each day. Dry toast bread, pats of frozen butter, packets of jam and platters of cheese, ham and salami were available.A small bowl of watery scrambled eggs was provided but emptied almost as soon as it appeared and there was a long wait for it to be replenshed Coffee was available from one machine so there was always a long queue for people who drank coffee. Jugs of long life milk and water were available to put into plasic beakers. Therwas also a drinks machine of chemical liquids masquerading as fruit juice avaiable. Everyone had to sit at big communal tables instead of at individual tables. The round tables waggled and the beakers of liquid were easily tipped over. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and a short walk from the sea. It has its own pool but the water was far too cold to swim in. There is also a tennis court and a football pitch. There are 5 small wooden chalets on the far side of the car park. Reception is often unmanned and the receptionist did speak a little English but all the rest of the staff only spoke Italian other than the black migrant gardeners who spoke some English. There are some rooms on the first floor of the main building which if you look at the brochure seem to be better. But even if you are in the main building you still have to go outside to get to the restaurant which is not good when windy or wet as there is no place to hang up raincoats If you want a decent nights sleep or be able to get a decent shower don't come to the hotel. This is classed as a four star hotel but I would barely give it a one star by most European standards.

  Simply great

  Great service, great food, friendly and English speaking staff, beautiful and quiet place. Administrator greeted us as if we were the two best people in the world. Hotel is not too close to big cities, but there is a small town in a couple minutes walk. Definitely a place to return to.
