  Alpine comfort with fine dining.

  The family run Hotel Schwarzer Adler is located in the heart of the compact and characterful village of Nauders, located just 90 mins away by car from Innsbruck. The hotel offers two types of room, the standard "Tyrol" and the superior "Nauders", also available are appartments. We stayed in a standard "Tyrol" and we were impressed with the it's spaciousness and comfort. The room had a large double bed and comfortable seating area with modern furnishings in traditional Tyrolean style. The modern fittings in the bathroom comprised a bath, wash basin and walk in shower. There was a separate w.c. Both facilities were accessed from the bedroom through stylish glass sliding doors. The balcony was a good size.The room was equipped with TV, which, unfortunately for English speakers, was tuned only to continental stations - Austrian, German, Italian, French, Dutch. No CNN or BBC, etc. We had half board for a week and we were impressed by the standard of cuisine during that time. The inventive and varied dishes, presented in fine dining style, were delicious. Service was excellent throughout, very professional but friendly. Afternoon tea was included in our package, usually a soup, selection of pastries and cakes, served around 3.30-5pm, very civilised. The hotel has spa and pool facilities which were clean, modern and pleasantly designed. There is small parking area in front of the hotel, I think more parking is available a short walk away. The hotel makes an excellent base for those, like us, skiing the area. The same probably applies for Summer walkers or those visiting the nearby historical sites. The Schwarzer Adler makes an excellent choice of hotel in all respects.

  excelent family hotel

  We stayed in this hotel for a week during our summer vacation. The hotel is very Austrian. Lots of wood and staff in traditional clothing. Food during half board is ok. Nothing fancy, but a lot off variety. The staff is the friendliest I have met in a long time in a hotel. The service in this hotel is personal and ever so pleasant. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean and our room has a balcony that really is e treat after being busy outdoors. The only negative remark I can make is that a class bath room door in a family room is probably not the best idea.

  Visit 3 countries within 20 minutes drive

  We stayed 5 days in a family room with mountain views. The rooms have carpet and a separate toilet and bathtub. There is a sofa sleeper for the Kids, which will be openend in the evening and closed during the day. Breakfast was served from 8 am and had a good cold buffet. We booked half board and every morning you could choose the menu for the evening. The brandnew Spa is perfect (only opened in the afternoon, no Kids under 14 years), the separted heated indoor pool (a bit cold...) is available all day and allowed to families with smaller children (but no guardian!) Great location for walks or short drives to nice villages in Engadin (Switzerland) or Vinschgau (Italy). Take the cable car to Bergkastel (30min. walk from the hotel, opened til mid of october in summer season). There is a great water playground for children (search for "gold"!) and kind of geocaching to the new bull restaurant (Stieralm)

  Successful 2nd visit

  Based on the success of last year we have stayed at this hotel for a second time. The room that we got was fully remodeled. Beautiful and comfortable and so clean! ( I still do not get the glass windows in the bathroom and Wifi could be better). Staff is working constantly to make you feel an appreciated guest. I have said it last year and Ill say it again. I cant tell you where I have seen a staff that will work so hard to make you feel at home. Thank you for that, it makes our vacation so much nicer. This hotel is a great place to stay if you want to experience the beauty of Tirol.

  Great hotel

  First class hotel in Nauders food great rooms fantastic with great views of the mountains staff could not do enough for you very nice bar area and with the virus the staff are tested every 2 wèeks by the government health department so you realy feel safe all the staff have maskes and its a great atmosphere i will be comming back again soon thanks to Silvia peter and susi and all the staff
