Shabby, run down - and freezing cold in December! - hotel ...9 degrees outside - and much the same inside! - as no central heating turned on in the hotel (because I was the only guest in a 53 room hotel??) Portable heater provided in room, but NO heating anywhere else in hotel, so I ate breakfast in the bar, where a really sad ''piccolo buffet'' for one was set up. The lady on Reception, who also served me breakfast, was wearing a suit with a large woollen shawl around her and boots; I had on a winter coat - thought about a pair of gloves, but too difficult to eat with them on ... Dire! I was told the heating would be turned on, but it never happened. When I arrived, Rai 1, 2 and 3 were not available on the TV - these are the major Italy-wide TV stations! The bell to ring for access to the garage didn't work, so had to drive to the hotel front entrance, trail to Reception to ask them to open the gate to the garage and then return to the garage ... Hotel is advertised as 4 star - but in reality it is more than shabby, quite dirty and I think would struggle to be an objective 2 star property - which might be an insult to some 2 star hotels! My room was not cleaned on Christmas Day at all. Restaurant closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - 4 star hotel??? - but probably just as well as the restaurant was also unheated. The lady on Reception was stoic throughout and kept up a quite amazing façade as though there was nothing strange about a guest having to eat breakfast wearing an overcoat ... she did apologise when I complained about things, but bounced right back to present me with a bill for the full amount when I went to check out! After insisting that she call someone from management, I was finally given a 16% discount ...

Very peaceful and good hotelThis hotel is just a perfect for vacation on the beach. Everything is working very well as most of its customers are germans. Very professional staff and friendly receptionists. View from the rooms was extraordinary especially during sunset. If you going to stay there try to get a room with sea view. Wi-fi is not very good in the rooms. Sometimes you need to change your place to get signals better.

Good place, but several improvements are requiredNever thought I would have had my first holiday as a retired person at the age of 40. So take this review with a pinch of salt and just do consider what you would expect from your holiday before judging straight from my words. I'm fairly confident that when I booked, I read an "All inclusive" formula, but sadly when I arrived at the hotel, I found out this was just a full board. Probably an error of mine, which had a repercussion in the holiday as it was a bit more annoying than expected. The hotel has a direct access to a wide, great white sandy beach, certainly ideal for families, although the sea is rarely calm and having a bath is often a challenge. The hotel itself is in need of some renovation, and - although accordingly to the national regulation they seem to fit in their star categorization, as frequent traveler I would classify Schumann as 3 stars (close to superior), but certainly not four. Exceptional with the cleaning status, things that left me perplexed was the absence of a safe in the room (though service in the reception was available), or the old-fashioned doors that don't lock after yourself or the antiquate and heavy door key, or proper provisioning of toiletries. The everywhere worn carpet, or the light controller on the bedside table, the old cracking phone contributed to my perception. A very positive note for the restaurant because dishes were delicious (two exceptions out of 5 days) and well presented, but portions limited in quantity. I was indeed annoyed by the limited fish selection (not influenced by the fish stop that will start at about mid-September), which in some cases was even frozen. The vegetable buffet was somehow compensating the limited portions, but the variety of cooked vegetables was limited and repeated daily with few variances. Very depressing the breakfast, with no cooked offering and local product selection. Table service was ok, but not amazing. Be prepared to specify your lunch and dinner preferences early in the morning. Nothing troubling, but somewhat limiting, even though I've to be honest I have not in need to change any of my choices so I don't know whether this would have been possible.

No volvería.

Such a bad experience.NEVER AGAINUnfortunately, I had to stay in this Hotel in November 2019. Although it has 4.5 stars, certainly does not deserves it. In the evening, the Hotel is "shut down" . The staff cannot talk in English - not expected from a 4.5 star hotel- receptionist shuts the phone down when you ask for a responsible manager on duty. Although you increase the temparature in your room, it is 'uncontrollable" too cold. Cannot order anything after 21:00. Such a bad experience..
