  Wonderful Biergarten

  I am in town for business. The front desk at my hotel recommended this place. It was a cool summer evening and the Biergarten was perfect. I had a local fish, gnocchi, and a warm salad of asparagus and tomato. All done very well with a nice presentation. I will return whenever I am in town.

  A few very nice days

  I arrived late on a Thursday, but Antje was still there (she usually leaves around 21:00). Either way, arrangements were made in advance for my late arrival. She is very welcoming and always ready with a smile. I was in room 17, a single. But with a balcony (as I think all rooms are). And a great Bavarian beer to end my too long travel day. Typical single bed. Nothing to write home about, but good enough. Breakfast in the morning was typical German, but with a specific place for me all set in the spacious restaurant. The guests generally seemed to be regulars (a good thing) and older, and from everyone there was always a nice guten Morgen shared. The beer garden is certainly spacious enough. And as Im traveling with my bike, their storage room was appreciated. One caveat is that the free WIFI thats mentioned is via a Vodafone hot spot. That means either a 1/2 hour free, or a daily or weekly fee paid directly to Vodafone. And here, a word of warning: after paying for a week (the cost of two days), it couldnt have been more difficult to actually start using. Nothing thats the hotels fault, other than the less than full disclosure regarding the Vodafone Hotspot. The location worked out well. 3,5-4 kilometers away from Wunsiedel, about 8-9 away from other attractions, making bike rides possible, if not difficult given the terrain. The scenery is beautiful, Antje works tirelessly... whats there not to like.
