It was niceThe hotel has a long history which is part of it's charm. Our room and bathroom were huge. There is no fan or A/C and it was very hot, but the windows open and we had a corner room which was helpful. We opted for the 'Epicurean' package. We had a guided tour of the hotel and church, which is not very large. This was followed by a wine tasting which was many local wines and a good value. We were supposed to have '3 wishes' fulfilled out of a selection they gave us, during the stay, but somehow, it never materialized. The main downside, is there is only a restaurant at the hotel, which was already booked up when we arrived, and no restaurant in the town during the week. Left us in a bind to eat the night we arrived. They should mention that in the booking somehow, as there was no where to eat at all. And the restaurant on site is independent of the hotel, which I don't think helped the hotel reputation. WIFI was supposed to work in the room and never did.

Weinviertel Countryside retreatI totally recommend this place - it is perfect for a getaway weekend in the charming wine county - the old castle sits on top of a small village which is surrounded by vinyards and plenty of hilly landscapes, greenery, birds chanting. Rooms are nice and comfortable, i especially recommend those in the 'Pfarrhof', a 2- minute-walk downhill ;). In the inner courtyard it is perfect for a sunny breakfast which is plentyful, all sorts of bread, jam, cheese, vegetables, cakes,... You can rent bicycles, have a tour through the Malteser castle, sunbathing next to the Burggraben or simply enjoy and end your day with another glas of wine of local winemakers on the terrace. Most probably other guests will join you. By the way, the service is excellent - Rita did her uttermost best to make our stay outstandingly easy and comfortable.

Note really a 4 star HotelThe castle is really an old castle, the room was quite spacious. The cleanliness of the bath was just average (shower partition was moldy) and the breakfast was super basic for the price (no fried or scrambled eggs, not fresh brewed coffee). Even the breakfast room wasn't that nice, at some tables you sit in front of the toilet. I would rate the Hotel not higher as three stars and then it's a bit overpriced.

Good for relaxWe spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. Room was big and clean. Breakfast very simple for a four star hotel, we definitely expected more. Wi-Fi connection terrible, you have to connect each time after few minutes with a quite complicated password which the system is not able to remember for the entire validity of it. Staff very friendly.

Wouldn't recommend for business was, but definitely for holiday!Came here for one night on a work trip. In low season I believe I was the only person there so it did feel very quiet and very intimate. Nethertheless, the staff were very lovely and attentive and made my stay comfortable and pleasant. Room was beautiful , clean and spacious. Not recommended to do work as the chair and table is quite low and not very comfortable. However there is a dining room you could use. There is nothing much nearby, the shop was closed when I arrived, there is a restaurant next door, but you'd have to check that it is open. I hear this place is really energised at weekends and in the summer, but expect it to be very quiet during non peak times.
