  Very nice place for retreats and conferences

  We had our staff training time here and were very pleased. Very good food, rooms were very comfortable. Staff are so helpful and kind. Nice rooms for our training. Nice chapel for our times of worship. Nice setting right on the river. I would recommend this retreat center to any group or organization.

  Nice place for conference and retreats in an authentic castle

  Was there for a meeting, with meals, but didnt stay the night. The schloss is next to the Rhine river , located in a nice country side settings, onsite, there are guide tower, nice little church and several building structures, the buffet meal was decent but limited selection, with typical German dishes, the dining room is right next to the river with great view if you sit next to the windows. Would recommend to any group or organizations planning meetings or retreats in the area.

  Chose this hotel as a lower cost option to do day trips via rental car into Switzerland. Pros - you are literally right on the Rhine River. It's beautiful. The hotel is a former 13th century castle that's been remodeled many times over the centuries, most recently an orphanage prior to becoming an event center and hotel. There are miles of trails for running walking along the river. Continental Breakfast was included and was good but not great. Cons - the rooms are more like dorm rooms than modern hotel rooms, low quality mattress with no box spring, no AC, no TV, no coffee, Internet was unsecured, but if you ask at the desk it's 4 euros for access. The biggest issue for us was the heat in the room and no AC combined with poor screens on the Windows. This allowed mosquitos into the rooms. The choice was a sweaty sleepless night or mosquito bites. I killed as many as I could and still had over 20 bites after 2 nights. We stayed here in mid July 2016. We checked out a day early.

  A poor experience..

  Three colleagues and I arrived here in the afternoon for an overnight stay; the large old Fortress on the river had looked promising at first, but it seemed run down and had the sparse and unwelcoming feeling of a Psychiatric Hospital or a Convent. The room to which I was assigned was also unwelcoming, almost spartan, with minimal furniture, a really tiny bathroom with a shower tray that filled up and spilled onto the floor due to bad drainage, a hot towel rail that wasn't and just one towel, windows that overlooked the trash bins down below and a service entrance where delivery trucks arrived early and noisily, and with terrible wifi...as we stay in hotels worldwide, it seemed clear to us that this one is in serious need of a large investment by the Ring Hotel Group. I will definitely not return.

  Tranquility

  This is a knights of the templar heritage site with an idealistic setting by the slow flowing Rhein. You can sit in the courtyard and reflect back on 400 years of history. I stayed in the Geasthause which is both scholastic in set up but still modern and comfortable.
