  LINDO HOTEL, the staff is the best!!

  HOLA!! Estuve hace 2 meses en este hotel. Es muy lindo, en frente del castillo de BRIG. Hermosas vistas por la noche. El desayuno esta muy bien, el hotel está a 3 cuadras del centro y a 5 de la estación de trenes! El staff es muy servicial. Gracias a todos!! El wifi debería mejorar. Un gran saludo a mi querido switzerland, y especialmente a BRIG, My place in the world haha.

  Mmmmm

  Quien nos atendio y quien fue la unica persona no huesped del hotel que vimos, parecia ser el dueño. Fue muy amable. Inclusive nos dio un late check out sin haberselo solicitado y nos llevo en su camioneta a la estacion de tren. Lo que no nos gusto es que despues de las 7:00 pm no se queda ningun empleado del hotel, ademas se ve fantasmal porque apagan todas las luces de las areas comunes y se prenden algunas con sensores y se apagan rapidamente y no dan suficiente iluminacion.

  Lovely location

  Stayed here as part of a tour group, so rooms are in some ways luck of the draw. Ours was tight and bed was more queen size that the 2 bed configuration we had at other hotels on our trip. (one of our solo travelers had a bigger room and bed - go figure) That said, our balcony overlooked Stockalper Castle and a lovely spot for wine and cheese in the afternoon. Very deep tub which made getting in and out a bit of a challenge. Bed was comfortable and having a kettle in the room for tea/coffee was nice. Maid was very nice and showed me where to find ice and a plate and silverware for our wine/cheese snack. Breakfast was good and had lots of variety.

  Economical stay and that's it

  My reviews focus on providing insight of the stay as plain as possible without overstating pros and cons, for the benefit of the future guests to take informed decision. The hotel is okay for the price but so it comes with issues. The hotel staff is mostly unmanned to reduce expenses, so the staff is nowhere to be seen except for the morning time. Only the reception area is lit and other common areas the lights goes off automatically. With no one to be seen at the hotel, it looks creepy at times. Not really clean - In the common room for dinning , the refrigerator smelled so badly with rotten stuff left by other guests. So we could not keep anything in it. Only when I informed it to cleaning staff, they removed the stuff. The beds were made, toilet were cleaned daily. However, the coffee mugs were not cleaned for all 3 nights, there were cigarette buds left in the balcony by previous guests which were not cleaned and was there all the time. Even the dust bins were not replaced with new bags. The lady who was coming to clean the room daily, did not say anything about us. Even on the day we were leaving, she said Merci to me. But when I came downstairs, she took advantage of my family and yelling them to keep the room clean. May be she was frustrated as did not offer any tips ?! They totally failed to understand that keeping the place clean is the responsibility of the hotel as well. But if you complain, they will get angry and argue that the price is cheap. The hotel never responded to my query through before check in. The beds are clean and comfortable,hot water, shower was good. But the wash basin was clogging and we had to keep the stopper out always to drain the water. They allowed one hour extra for check out. 7 mins easy walk from train station and there is Migros and Kebab restaurant near by. To my review of the property through booking.com, this is what they wrote back to me ... " To keep the hotel room in such a mess -it's awful - it's a shame!! We will charge an extra fee for such awful mess! It's absolutely scandalous to accomodate such dirty guests as you.... " You can see very rude answers to other the guests' feedbacks including "what the hell are we doing; you better stay in 5* hotel ; etc" So you can understand their professionalism.

  Nice budget hotel in good location

  We had three rooms for two nights here. As mentioned the reception is not staffed and the check in with creditcard and reservation number at the outside automat was easy. All rooms had a different but nice configuration with a fantastic view of the Stockalper Palace. Two rooms also had nice balconies. The room and bath are somewhat dated but clean and a good deal. Two baths were out of shower/shampoo gel for our entire stay and since you are unlikely to encounter staff this was rather annoying. We signed up for the CHF 15 breakfast buffet, which had an excellent choice of bread, good coffee, tea, juice, eggs to boil to your liking, some cheese and cold cuts. Overall again reasonably priced.
