  Stepping back into time

  This was a wonderful experience. If you like corporate style hotels with modern showers forget it but if you want to feel as if you have been given the key to a fairy tale setting this is for you. The castle is old, the spiral staircases are uneven and the rooms feel as if you have stepped back in time. If you want to play golf there is a golf course on the doorstep. We enjoyed exploring the local area, gentle beautiful landscapes including the Danube valley.

  Fantastic place!

  We came to Schloss Ernegg with a group of 80 runners and had a fantastic time. The place is amazing, the staff extremely helpful, and, being part of the organisation of the trip we particularly appreciated the help provided to organise our stay. The food was excellent, the service was spot-on and all runners really enjoyed their 3-day trip to Austria! Definitely a place to recommend for corporate events/ wedding or just a romantic weekend away!

  Near Linz and best Business hotel off the beaten track ever

  We found the hotel on one of the booking sites and as it was only a little detour but great value we booked it. Best decision ever! We were welcomed by the Countess herself and were the only guests, after some e-mail checking (free Wifi) we had a drink outside at the bAr. No restaurant so we walked 2 mins to the nearby golf club and had a simple meal which was tasty and value. Upon returning we declined another drink but bar was still open and had a good sleep. Private breakfast and off to our meeting, thanks to the friendly staff and night in the forest we were well rested and relaxed.

  Amazing place, would highly recommend!

  A group of 40 visited Schloss Ernegg in June for a business planning trip and I couldn't speak highly enough of the venue. The setting was incredible as was the building itself. Anna the Manager was extremely helpful and accommodating to all our needs. While the wi-fi was a bit patchy in places, the hotel more than made up for it in character and charm. From eating breakfast on the patio to playing frisbee on the lawn, Schloss Ernegg is a great venue for any team/company looking for a venue abroad.

  Do not stay here unstaffed property

  Room was lovelY. I arrived 5pm to find the lady locking up the big heavy gate that leads into the castle and from then until 9.30 the following morning at checkout I saw nobody (staff or guests). I was in effect caretaker of this castle for the night. I know many people who would upon arrival have just turned around and left when they discovered that there were absolutely no staff on site, or even other guests to be seen. Surely this is a major Health and Safety issue. What would happen if there were an emergency (eg fall on the very old, winding steps up to the room). When I arrived at my room, I locked myself in and stayed put. Would definitely not recommend this place. The bar was not comfortable (even if willing to sit there alone). There were no dining facilities. I cannot find anything to recommend this place. This property should be removed from their listings or at least inform potential guests that this is an un-staffed premises.
