Are there any better rooms in the hotel? I sure hope so.

Stayed at Scandic Atrium in Turku just a few days ago. I appreciated the fact that it was easy to use my bonus points, this is normally not the case. On the other hand, there's a reason for this. There are two far better Scandic hotels in Turku. That said, the staff did a wonderful job as we checked in and the breakfast was very good. The room was a different story. I had to laugh as I saw the toilet; haven't seen anything alike since my grandmother decided to have a renovation, hence, back to the 1970:s. Everything in the room was very much worn down. I guess I might have asked for another room, and if I had paid full price, I certainly would have. The only reason for me rating the hotel as "poor" instead of "terrible" is because of the nice staff and the good breakfast. Will I return? Nah, most likely not.

Nice stay, a bit worn hotel

Stayed in Superior Plus -room with kids. Super spacious with a living room, a separate bedroom, two bathrooms and the best hotel sauna ever! Sauna has enough space for 6-8 people, and yes it's your own private sauna in your room! The room was comfy and clean. The breakfast was typical Scandic buffet. The staff very attentive and nice. What I don't like about this hotel is the deco and the colours; they are ex-Cumulus colours as this is an ex-Cumulus hotel. Keeping my fingers crossed for a refurb as the hotel is indeed a bit worn and the deco looks like from the 80's.

    Max 1 day. Poor hotel

Stayed in the hotel sun-mon. The interior of the hotel corridors looked like has not been renovated since the 80's. The rooms had NO air condition, which made it terribly hard to sleep since it was so hot. There was one small table fan, which did not do any good. Also, no toilet brush in the WC left a nice surprise to the room service staff. The swimming pool temperature was ok, but not 25C warm as it indicated on the wall. The sauna was ok, but all the shower gel was out, so seems they do not do frequently cleaning there... At the breakfast, there were no signs of covi19 measures other than a box of gloves and hand sanitizer bottles. The breakfast was full of people and all used the same cutleries to take food, no safety distance, and no portion separation of the meals. The breakfast food was good, but if there is a breakfast buffé, there should be more safety measures like portions servings and staff that serve the food etc. in order to minimize the human contact and unnecessary spreading of bacteria. For this price, it is definitely not a bargain. If there is no other hotel to stay in Turku, this is a good option, but would definitely not stay more than one night.

    Need renovation

Hotel has old furniture I think it need renovation sooner or later. Price has been expensive if compare it to hotel's old quality and poor customer service. Some workers in the reception were friendly but one has been rude and unfriendly. As a guest you must pay for everything but in night I notice some strange guests arrive to the lobby and they has got free drinks etc. I wonder it. Usually if hotel has example free lemonade/other drinks those are for everyone not just for strange people in the night. Got weird feeling of this. Cleaning need to improve because there has been a lot of dust on the floor and stains in carpet also in corridor I wonder didn't anyone wash the floor at all. In the early morning heard guests walking and talking wokeup. I've been to other scandic before those others were better quality. Here only good thing is a walking distance to center and canalside but that's all I don't feel like returning never again. Quality is like 2 star.

    Ok hotel in good location

Hotel was full on the weekend we visited. Big line in check in. Quite small space with a lot of people waiting to get checked in. Not very good especially during Covid-19 times. Our room was good and clean, no AC though. Location was very good, easy to walk everywhere. Paid parking. Didn't use sauna or swimming pool. Ok breakfast with quite many options.
