Using COVID as an excuse to cut cornersThe breakfast was a joke. It seemed like they were using COVID as an excuse the skimp on food cost. There was hardly any selection of the pre-packaged food. They had some cheese and spreads the first day but ran out of almost everything by day 3. The powdered eggs were cold and gross. The bread was stale. They could have easily offered cereals, pastries, pre-portioned plates, etc but were clearly cutting corners. And running out of food is really disappointing. There wasnt much to offer a small child, we had to go to the grocery store and buy food. We also booked a king bed room with a bath tub and a crib, confirmed a few days before, confirmed on check in. Got to our room and there was no tub or crib, and 2 single beds. Had to switch rooms the next day and still could only have single beds.

FineSimply a nice hotel but I won't get back there as I was very disappointed by their parking place.. It is small and narrow and no chance to get a place there..also, there's an extra price to pay! So if you're traveling with a car, you have to consider some good additional expenses you'll have for the parking.

Nice hotel for a short stay.I stayed here for one night mid pandemic. Good to see no queue a reception for check in, so was in my room ( via the glass elevator) in minutes. The room was a good size and over looking the street but insulated well enough to keep traffic noise out. The only downside with the room was the crappy shower. Took ages to warm up and then the water jet was just one heavy flow - as if part of shower was missing. A meal in the restaurant was good and reassuring that all pandemic rules were being followed. I like Scandic hotels; and while this wasnt the best, it was certainly OK.

DissapointedI am a Scandic Top Level member, meaning I have stayed countless amounts of nights in Scandic hotels, particularly all around Norway. I had an email stating I would be getting upgraded to a Superior Extra room, as I was a Top Level member and it was just days before Christmas. I still have this email in my inbox from Scandic Royal reception. When I arrived I was told there was no upgrades avilable and I was just put into a completely standard room AND there was no welcome gift what so ever and no aknowedgment that I was a Top Level member. Very disapointing. Room was ok, cleaning not great, some stains on the table in the room which I had to clean myself.... should have been done by cleaners.

Family stay for the weekendVery disappointed with the reception service. After a long wait in the line until we reached the reception guys, which followed by the reception employee checking us in the system. Suddenly he had to call someone regarding our booking. After the phone call, he asked us to wait some more, without any further explanation and continued to check in other people. After some waiting time he approached us with the key cards. He just handed them and went back to his desk. Since he did not provide any further information regarding where the room is, where are the facilities, breakfast time and etc. I approached him again asking for more info. It appeared due to pandemic situation, we had to book certain times for breakfast and pool area, because the amount of attending people was limited. After I got offered the left free spots for the pool area and booked the time, 8 o'clock in the evening, we went to our room. Hence to the evening, when we showed up with our small daughter to the pool, we were told that we are not in the list for the time that we have booked. Extremely frustrated, went to the reception area to find out what happened. The reception employee didn't write us down nor for the pool or breakfast list. They were quite rude, didn't offer an apology, just stated that there a no more free spots for the day, and that I should have booked the time while checking in. BUT THATS WHAT I DID! Why I'm so upset, that the pool had to be the highlight of the day for my daughter, and it was the only reason we chose this hotel and not the others. Not coming back for sure!
