  I cannot fault this hotel or the village. Its one of the most charming places you could ever go to, surrounded by tall mountains, and great tavernas. Its comfortable and elegant, with a friendly and helpful owner. Stay for as long as you can!

  A place to relax after a long day

  We were welcomed warmly, the rooms are very comfortable. We had a wonderful time doing day tours of the mountains, streams, and surrounding villages. Vasilli was of great help whenever I phoned with questions or needs. The housekeeping was perfect and also very helpful. We felt as if we were at home. We will come back for sure.

  Hote overview

  The hotel is gorgeous! It has large internal spaces for your personal belongings and it is very clean. Also it has a breakfast area with an outstanding view to the whole mountain. Last but not least, the staff is friendly and willing to provide you with everything you might need. All these combined can make your experience there far better than you can imagine!

  GENUINELY LOVELY PLACE TO STAY

  We stayed here for 3 nights and really loved this place. Vasilis, your host, is a genuinely nice guy, and nothing is too much trouble for him. Its set back about 100m from the main car park in the village (our only grumble is that a sign near the car park would have been helpful in finding Saxonis) and around you are various cosy little alleys and narrow back lanes with cafes and restaurants. All are walkable. Saxonis itself has a modest number of rooms with a very pleasant covered terrace which enables you to breakfast and enjoy views of the stunning mountains. Very quiet at night and great for stargazing. Vasilis is a mountain guide and is hugely knowledgable being one of the first hosts in the village years ago. He is full of ideas and suggestions about walks, day trips and things to do. Papigko is a great location for exploring the Vikos Gorge but you dont have to be superfit to enjoy it - lots of places to drive to, or shortish walks to neighbouring villages. All in all, a lovely place to stay, and Vasilis is such a warm and personable host.

  Simply stunning

  Just back from a three night stay. Vasilis and Anna are brilliant. This is a very special place. Vasilis is passionate about Saxonis and the region. He suggested great activities and restaurants. The rooms are stylish and the beds soooooo comfy. The location is simply stunning. The highlight of our holiday.
