Noisy and dampI dont know the ins and outs of the star rating system applied to hotels. I certainly dont know what justifies a three star rating but I would have hoped it would be better than this. We booked our room at fairly late notice, a few days before a weekend of beautifully forecast weather. It stands to reason that options would be limited. We nabbed the last room in the place. My wife read several good reviews which smacked of in-house review-writing in my opinion. There was free parking in front of the guest house which was a plus. We were led to our ground floor room which was basically just off the lobby, very close to the main entrance, lounge and breakfast room. On entering, the room instantly smelled of an air freshener -the type you would use to cover something up. I later discovered that the smell they were trying to mask was damp. The room was simple but in fairness, everything we needed was there. Very dated though. The shower was very small and was either scolding hot or freezing cold regardless of what we did with the controls. The biggest problem however was the noise. Being so close to the lobby, I anticipated some noisy comings and goings. Unfortunately, the girl who checked us in seemed to be having a social gathering in the staff kitchen next to our room very late in the evening. I shouldnt complain really. After all, this is my first visit to Weston and I had a great day despite being sceptical when my wife booked the room. The beach is perfectly charming and wasnt over-crowded. The pier provided all the games my five-year old could imagine and we even had a pretty decent Japanese meal much to the delight of my wife. However, I cant help feeling that £90+ is a lot of money for what this guest house has to offer. The room may have an en-suite but it feels like a hostel/ bed-sit in every other respect. Not what Id expect based on the description and reviews.

TERRIBLE, DO NOT BOOK.Filthy dirty old and gloomy. Booked through booking.com, pictures looked nice. Don't be fooled. We payed £190 for 2 nights bed and breakfast. My partner wanted to leave the minute we got to our room, dirty and dusty.pile of dust behind bathroom door, been there months.the ONLY good thing was the bedding was clean and fresh, that is where the good ends. This place is like a hostel or halfway house. The breakfast was cereal or toast, which we had to make ourselves, tea or coffee, that was it, no cooked options at all. We didn't bother the next morning. The whole place smells old and musty, in desperate need of a good clean and Hoover, and most definitely an update of decor.the coffee in our bedroom was rock hard in the jar, we didn't use it. Do not book here.

Dont go hereMe and my sister booked here for the weekend, we arrived to a dirty smelling place they wanted paying before we saw the room, well what a hole, the bathroom smelt of sewage, and it was so old and tatty, and they charge £90 a night, unreal, there was no way we were going to stay there, we did not feel save at all, we told them there was no way we would stay there and we want our money back now, I spoke to the manger on the phone he asked us to leave our bank details on a bit of paper, no chance, I demanded the card machine to do a refund now, the owner was very rude on the phone. This place is a home for the DSS not for paying guests. The pictures on booking.com are not realistic, shame on you booking.com.

Damp and very smellyWe stayed here for a couple of nights....never again....the room had an overwhelming smell of damp no windows on a small sky light that had to be kept open because of the awful smell of damp. Wall paper falling off dated 1980s decor. Break fast was cereals and toast.... lots of noise from people walking around and banging doors.... Bed was clean and comfy only good thing about the stay... Avoid this place like the plague. Outside says about a gold award unbelievable... pictures on booking.com and there website must of been took 20yrs ago as looks nothing like the rooms as of today... extremely misleading
