  nice room, but service can be improved

  I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and the hotel decoration is good. The room is spacious, the decoration is special, the breakfast is good. It has a local night market nearby but the metro station is not close to the hotel. The room has no windows but it is ok for me as far as it is not smelly. The only thing that I am disappointed is that the service can be improved a bit. I wrote them an e-mail inquiring if they can help me something before my trip but I didn't receive any response even after my trip. I don't know if the staff read my e-mails. And if not, please make sure to check the mail box more often as it is quite common for the guests to contact the hotel through e-mails nowadays.

  Location, Staff Good.

  The location is good as there are cafes, bars and restraunts within easy walking distance. Hanshin Department store is 10 minutes walk away and it has a Jason's Gourmet supermarket and food court on level B3. Convenience stores close and laundromat within 10 minutes walk. Closest MRT is Central Park at about 15 minutes walk due to traffic/road crossing. Park itself is large and nice. Room not bad. Nice bed and pillows, small fridge but can make ice and no overpriced minibar rubbish clogging it up; just 2 small cans of coke and lemonade that the cleaner replaces every day if you use. Bathroom ok and shower good. No carpet which is good for hygiene but the large cushions on the bed and small lounge should have covers. Western breakfast ok but Chinese version to bland and salty. Door lock flimsy but I felt totally safe as Taiwan safe and 24 hour staff. Room quiet but a bit strange as windows covered and mirrored instead. Nautical theme also strange; staff wear sailor suits! Staff polite, helpful and discrete but English skills variable.

  The hotel that smells like roses 24/7 with the nicest staff, well located - highly recommended

  We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and were very satisfied. Compared to other hotels we've stayed in Taiwan, this is definitely one of the best value for money examples. We had a spacious room with 2 double beds, a shower and a stand-alone bathtub - all decorated with good taste and smelled like roses at all times. The hotel is very conveniently located, near a good night market and not far from the pier, where you can board the light rail. Their bikes are very well maintained and can be enjoyed for no extra charge. There is a free-to-use laundry and drying machine and the staff has great recommendations for restaurants in the area.

  It was nice enough

  This was a nice hotel and well situated for restaurants and shops. Our room was very big and spacious too although a little dated. The reception staff were very helpful. We kept our bikes in the foyer over night and they were looked after.

  Hotel with some issue

  Something I like: The food is great and enjoyable! I enjoy the variety of different type of breakfast in the morning! The location is great, too. Though it is not close to MRT, it is next to a famous night market in Kaohsiung. You can take your time to experience all different types of traditional and innovative food in Taiwan. Though the temperature can be terrible in summer, it can be a very comfortable walk in the spring or fall. The hotel has a laundry room in the first floor, which is extremely convenient during our stay. Some issue that ruin the trip: BEDBUGS!!!! I was bited by bedbugs the night when I stayed! I found a huge swollen area on my thigh next morning woke up on the couch. I thought it was caused by allergic reaction to some food in the previous night or some dust mites, but later realized that those are bedbug bite marks, which is more than one hundred counts. I called the hotel next morning for this issue after checked out and was told that they shall return my call for further information how they deal with it. However, I never received the call. For this reason, I won't recommend this hotel to any body. In particular, if you have young kid travel with you, you might need to be careful about these bugs.
