  Outstanding wedding venue

  Our daughters wedding was held in the beautiful grounds of Tawhananui Lodge. Karl and Jo had just taken ownership and couldn't have been more helpful and obliging with all the ideas and wishes of the couple, absolutely NOTHING was too much trouble. The food and service was outstanding, along with our accommodation in the lodge. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere only added to make everyones experience a day to remember. If you are looking for that special, individualised service and venue then Karl and Jo are the people to talk to. Carol and Mark Thornborough

  Amazing Wedding Venue and Lovely New Owners

  We had a beautiful wedding at Tawharanui Lodge, one of the first with the new owners Karl and Jo. They were so accomodating for all our little requests - extremely helpful with putting up decorations exactly how we wanted them (including a few unusual quirky touches), got new wifi just because we asked for it, and were around to help things run smoothly on the day. We had a bit of a miscommunication about the bar package with the old owners, as we wanted champagne right after the ceremony which is not standard. Karl and Jo not only sorted it out, but gave us an extra half hour of drinks for free :) The bar and wait staff were all really friendly, our guests raved about them afterwards (especially Angela behind the bar). A lot of our guests were late due to traffic, but the staff here were quite flexible. They were fine pushing everything back an hour, and brought out extra appetizers so the guests didn't get too hungry before a late dinner. The room was lovely to stay in, very spacious and freshly renovated. The bride and bridesmaids had so much room to get ready. We also had a cute little private balcony out the back, which was lovely for us to sit and relax once the guests had left. There was still renovation work going on, but it was nicely cleared up for our event. Karl and Jo worked so hard to make sure everything was polished and perfect for the day. We really appreciate how hard it must have been in the middle of all that! Guests stayed in rooms on site, and baches up the hill, and were invited back the next morning for a lovely breakfast (even though we hardly needed any more food!) Overall it was a perfect experience as a wedding day should be! We've made friends with Karl and Jo, who were wonderful the whole time, and even invited us back for our anniversary - can't wait to go back and see how much more beautiful it is now!

  Beautiful setting, excellent service

  We loved our stay at Tawharanui Lodge. As a large family group ranging in age from 8 to 94, we came close to filling the entire Lodge. The rooms were nicely appointed (big closets, ensuites, comfortable beds). The surrounding areas were perfect for strolling or just admiring the view. Jo and Karl couldn't do enough for us and did much more than could reasonably be expected. Karl took children to feed the eels, they stored chilly bins and cleaned used BBQ implements. Rooms vary a bit in size. Thank you Jo and Karl.

  Sumptuous & Scumptious

  Id been to this venue quite some time ago and this time it had the wow factor! We got together at Tawharanui Lodge in December for a family get together and I could not have been more impressed. There was no one thing that made the visit special, it was the combined package of gorgeous grounds, stylish decor, convivial hosts, cold crisp beverages and several courses of food fit for royalty! That the weather played ball just topped off what was a very special day for us all. You wont be disappointed if you choose to host or attend an an event at Tawharanui Lodge, not only because the owners have such great taste, but they have the attitude that there are no such things as problems, only solutions. I can see why this place is becoming a hot pick for weddings. I cant wait to find another excuse to go back!!

  Stunning wedding location

  This is a very stunning location for a wedding. When we were looking for venues near Auckland to get married, we were highly recommended Tawharanui Lodge and it did not disappoint one bit. The venue was superb and perfect for us to mark our special occasion. It was such a stunning place and setting to get married. To cap it all off Karl and Jo were absolutely amazing in making this the perfect day for us, we cannot thank them enough. All the details that we wouldnt have considered were all carefully thought of by Karl and Jo. The bubbly that was brought to our for the groomsmen and bridesmaid while we were getting ready on the day was just an example how they thought of everything. We stayed at Tawharanui Lodge the night before plus an extra night after the big day which made things so much easier for us. Just to mention, we are a couple who came all the way from the UK, so you can imagine the logistics of organising everything, but Karl and Jo made this a breeze. The rooms for the Bride and Groom were perfect, smart and beautiful. The whole venue was just perfect. One heads up though is do not rely on the Google images of the area, we saw how stunning the place is having been there. We liked the place so much we definitely will be going back there, very soon.
