  Unacceptable

  I found this big fat roach under the bed when i was searching for my sons toys. Disgusting... Thankfully it was a few hours before we check out. Never expecting this from a 5 star hotel. It is not acceptable

  Good to see it still going during restrictions

  Quieter than before but then this is what I like about the hotel. Water spots is now operating as is easy to play with the equipment especially now they do some exclusive packages. Upgraded to the private pool again which is not cheap but so unusual and makes if just more enjoyable with my partner even in the rain. Pools are good and bar area still the same relaxing and having a bucket of beer. Liked the new tree house and had a really nice romantic meal one night just by the sea. Pity about the band but lets hope it comes back soon.

  Billing Error

  Stayed at this resort and the brand name SandandSandals Desaru Resort. Recently received my Maybank statement but branded asPulai Desaru Resort. What a shocking mistake found. Rather confusing the customers expectations

  Large room & clean surroundings

  Had booked the Deluxe Garden View and was upgraded to Deluxe Pool View for 2 nights. Added 1 extra bed and room was spacious enough to accommodate it. It still felt roomy even with the extra bed. Due to the Malaysian Conditional Movement Control Order, breakfast was sent to the room, you can specify what time to send it up. Bathroom was spacious while the bathtub was on the balcony with a view of the pool. The pool was also large, allowing us to find a quieter spot away from the crowd. Overall area was clean, including the beach. Breakfast, although no possibility to choose, was more than enough. A mixture of western and local spread for one person with a choice of hot coffee or tea. One suggestion would be not to include the toasted bread, it becomes hard when its delivered cold to the room. Cons, 1. The room aircon controller which had malfunctioned - fan stuck at High and temperature at 16C; 2. Cushions in the room sofa had marks/spots on them, not sure it was cleaned after every guest or not - see the red & white square cushions in the photos. It needs to be properly washed, currently it looks gross. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay. Room was large and roomy, similarly with the pool. Will come and stay again in the future.

  Below expectation

  1. Our check-in was delayed for 2 hours as they informed that our room wasn't ready. 2. We booked the pool view room. Quite spacious however we found chocolate wrappings in one of the drawer and the floor is a bit sandy. 3. The breakfast was okay. 4. The gent nearby the pool was horrible. Toilet bowl covered in tissues. Stinks. There's even poop on the toilet floor. This is the major turndown during my stay.
