  Great location

  Everything is perfect: location on the first line to ocean, friendly stuff, nice clean pool but it needs renovation. Getting busier on school holidayand quit in oher days. Located close to Currumbin Wild Sanctury so expect some birds visits in the mornings

  Jinxed on this trip

  One of those holidays where if one thing went wrong, then everything went wrong. My mistake that I didn't read the small print, that the unit did not have air-conditioning. However, at $236/night one would assume that it was a given in Queensland. Clearly it was an issue for others too, as there were 3 free standing plug in fans. One of which blew up the first night we were there and blew the power point. The only way to stay cool enough was to keep all windows and doors open, which at night meant there was a lot of traffic noise. Hence we had to sleep with ear plugs. The twin room was small, with the beds hanging out past the door opening. This door was badly damaged, due to successive guests banging it against the bed end. For the first few days the washing machine didn't work. Day three the unit complex (not the local area) had a complete power outage, which meant we were not able to cook dinner and the fans were inoperable. The units are tired and old, and desperately in of a renovation. Air-conditioning needs to be installed as a must. We booked Sandcastles because it was just around the corner from where we had family. However, we would not plan to stay here again. It was not value for money, and a real disappointment for our Christmas holiday. The saving grace was that the manager Craig, did the best he could with the limited resources. He was very courteous, apologetic for the issues. He is worth more money.

  Disappointing

  After having fabulous holidays here many times this was not one of them. Booked a penthouse and no one told us that our side of the building would have machinery going to dig up all the grass below and therefore cover our balconies in dirt and the whole pool area!! We had to stay inside as dirt was blowing everywhere!! Also we seemed to be the only apartment being used as the rest of that side of the building was naturally closed because of this inconvenience except us!!! If we had been told we would of changed our dates as it wasnt relaxing!

  Good location. Spacious Apartment

  I and my wife stayed for 3 nights over the Ekka Holiday long weekend. The main attraction is its location. Our apartment looked over the beach, a couple of minutes' walk away. The apartment itself was spacious with 2 double bedrooms, one with ensuite. The fittings etc weren't brand new, but apart from a couple of dripping taps, everything was well maintained and clean. The manager was very helpful, happy to come up to our apartment to show us how to turn on the tv when we couldn't work it out. Overall, good value for money

  Great location and spacious room

  Great location, we have stayed here a couple of times before and always enjoy coming back. Secure underground parking, dedicated space. Good balcony with beach view. Did not get a chance to use the pool & spa this time but the beach was so close anyway.
