Not suitable for young families- Pipe burst in the kitchen at 2am in the morning and by the time the plumber etc came, we where up all night. No offer received i.e. discount or an extra night. Other pipes in the apartment are rusted and could also burst. Pipes rust from the inside out. - Bacony would not meant current building code. Very dangerous for young children. My little one put head through the large gap at bottom and could have fallen to her death. - In desperate need of a good clean. Under the couch that was elevated from the floor it was filthy. - Vacuum had no suction. - Could not use bbq as it is easly accessible by all members of the public and they where all using it. - No pens or paper to take notes. - Not wheelchair / pram friendly, you need to walk around the block to get to the beach. - Not suitable for young families. - Windows can fully open to roughly 1.5m wide by 1m high (no screens) ... not suitable for children... they could easly climb and fall out. -9.30 am check out is difficult to negatiate with a family.

HolidaySan Simeon is ideally located right in the beachfront. No main roads to cross and wonderful pathway for walking, jogging and kids on scooters or bikes. Walking distance to enough cafes and restaurants and short drive to close by attractions. Our unit slept 4 comfortably and had beautiful sea views. The sofas and mattresses could do with being renewed but were not so uncomfortable that we couldnt sleep or relax. There are fans in the bedrooms but no fans or air con in the living area. Not sure how this comfortable this would be in the middle of summer. Virginia is welcoming and communications were prompt. Would highly recommend San Simeon.

Location is the best assetThe beachfront location is just about the best thing about the San Simeon. Walk out the door and your on the beach... quite a few issues with the rooms. The light switches zapped myself and other members of my group consistently, the manager seemed unconcerned when informed and seemed reluctant to call an electrician to check it, however she did call for an electrician and the issue was rectified a day or two later. Other fun features of the room we stayed in included an ensuite door that would hit the bed and not fully open. Probably wouldnt stay again, but like I said, the location is its best asset... with a few room renovations, this place would improve remarkably.

Gorgeous - outstanding beach getawayAbsolutely spot on! We booked hurriedly to arrange a week's stay when other arrangements fell apart and we struck gold. The view, the breeze, the beach access, the range of restaurants, the pool, all just perfect. It really is a hidden little gem, the beach walk, north or south is a perfect start to the day and our apartment was in perfect condition and had a whole range of small extra's...... like a beach umbrella and beach seats, toys for kids and loads of other bits and pieces. We checked in on Sat, keys easy to access and was a park space. My only small complaint would be the cost saving on the small things, one garbage gag, one dishwasher tablet and one toilet roll in each of the two toilets. When booking for 4 people for a week, i would have thought this would have been taken into consideration. Anyway, small thing that doesn't detract from what is a lovely experience.

Never again !!As previous reviews have said , the location is second to none, and the view spectacular. That's where the good points end however. It is unfortunate that the building seems to be falling into a state of disrepair under the current management. We we zapped by light switches on several occasions, as were other guests on our floor. As well as being zapped, our lights in the apartment blew twice, and set off the safety switch, leaving us with no lights or ceiling fans for a few hours. The manager reluctantly called electricians who had to replace the light fittings, and one of the power points which he said were unsafe to use. The electrician also told us he had another 8 rooms to attend to with the same "zapping" issues as we had. Another special treat on our much anticipated holiday was when the fire alarms went off , and we all had to evacuate at 7.30 pm ,into torrential rain. My disabled daughter ended up having a seizure brought on by anxiety due to the alarms going off, standing in the pouring rain, and not knowing if the building was actually on fire! Fortunately a kind guest at the hotel gave us his umbrella, and helped us to get her to some shelter. There was no announcment made to let us know that there was no immediate danger, and no announcement to let us know that it was safe to return to our rooms. The manager didn't take charge of the situation at all, and the guests were left completely in the dark ,as to what was happening. There was no head count, no Fire services called, and when I questioned the manager about this the following morning, she couldn't have cared less, and actually rolled her eyes at me, as if I was being trivial. Her response was that she knew it would be a false alarm , as "it happens all the time" This was our 6th holiday at San Simeon, and sad to say our last. Never again!!! Never again!!!!
