Worst hotel of our Italy trip

I booked this hotel at booking.com for a one night stay. We were going to visit the Ferrari museum and an authentic Parmesan-Reggiano cheese factory, and this hotel was in the vicinity. Travelling with wife and 2 kids, I booked the quadruple room at EUR 120 for one night. The hotel is located right next to a main road, and there was quite a bit of road noise. The quadruple room was actually two separate rooms (a single and a triple) with a shared bathroom and hallway. The good: Relatively easy to find. The bad: Old, run-down bathroom with simple toilet, sink and a shower. Old plastic shower curtain. The towels were of the dish type... very rough and not inviting. The furnishing is very simple, and mostly put together by misc pieces, as if aquired at a tag sale. The hotel has a bar and simple restaurant that we did not try. I would not recommend this hotel to any travellers.

    Horrible!!

I stayed there for 2 weeks on a business trip, it was the most horrible hotel I've ever been. My single room was spacious enough, and had a balcony, but it was shared with other 2 rooms, any other guest could walk to my door and watch me inside the room!! More the noise from the road was heavy. There is no 24 hour reception and if you get back to the hotel at night you have to go to the service door and ring loudly till one of the old and angry owners comes and opens you the door, also I must say they are quite umpolite with guests. It is a family run hotel, but the 'family' is old, consider the 'receptionist' must have been around 70 yrs old, completely unable to take calls and organize work. The breakfast is an extra available only from 7am (we had to go out at 6 am for work so no breakfast) it's quite poor (jam, coffee and croissants) and it costs 8 euros per day!! Now let's come to the worst things: 1. there are INSECTS IN THE BEDS!!! 2. the shower has no curtain 3. the whole building must have been built in the 60's, and it was never restored, so all the linens, bedding, furnitures, beds, tables, paintings, everything of the room is from that time. That also means everything is old and I've had more than a few sleepless nights because the bes was so noisy even if I just moved a foot. Definitely don't go there!!

    Nice stay!

I stayed here recently for a business meeting in a company near Spilamberto. I found a nice and friendly staff, clean room with a comfortable bed and a good price. Ask for a back quieter room!

    old italian style

We use to spend a night at Hotel San Pelegrino on our way from Switzerland to Ancona ferry port. We enjoy the traditional italian style of this hotel run by an elder couple. We also learnt to know Spilamberto a charming little town (with its aceto balsamico tradition)

    Old style family driven hotel

I spent two days here on my business trip. Friendly staff, clean and nice room, hotel in old style, which I like. Breakfast only average, no eggs for example and also nothing warm. I was quite satisfied, but the price was about twice as expensive as it should be. But, maybe it is OK, in Italy everything is twice as expensive as it should be.
