  A good value stay

  This big, rather monumental new hotel is located in the Chinese market area about 2/3kms from downtown.The rooms are large and comfortable with good amenities, great shower, and aircon. Taxis or tuk tuks to town cost around 3 or 4 pounds. But the rates charged at the hotel are low enough to more than compensate for that inconvenience.The hotel does not have a bar but rooms have a minibar and there is a great Laotian bar/restaurant with terraces and live music in the evenings 5 minutes walk away on the bank of the Mekong as well as others on the main road to town. The staff are young, friendly and enthusiastic. Many speak some english.No wifi yet but free use of the computer room. Breakfast may be a bit chinese for some but chefs stand by to cook eggs for you.

  Good hotel in Vientiane

  I was in Vientiane and stayed at Hotel Sanjiang Grand for a week. The hotel is nice with considerably big carpet area size of each room. The hotel is located not more than 5 kilometres from Vientiane Wattay International Airport and hence is easily accessible. The hotel looks as if it is located in China with mostly Chinese staff and the breakfast in the restaurant is also mostly Chinese. The spread in the breakfast is not very good since quite a few items are pork based and cannot be consumed by people of certain faith; the restaurant should keep this in mind. Although I got the hotel room at a tariff of US$ 65 per night due to the corporate tie up the hotel has with the Laotian company that made the booking on my behalf, the tariff for normal visitors is in the range of US$ 130 for a hotel in this small city.

  Reasonably good hotel

  Stayed three nights on Labour day weekend. Booked by the local travel agent. For its price its value for money. Though its said to be 4 star i would rate it at 3.5 star looking at the facilities available. There is only one coffeehouse. No bars. There is a night club next door connected to the hotel. Its a clean and comfortable hotel though the house keeping could be better. The corridors are not well lighted so are the rooms. The shower pressure and hot water not consistent. The breakfast is sufficient and mainly chinese food. You can get eggs bread and cereals though. In terms of location it is in a Chinese area with hardware shops all around. Its not within walking distant from the town centre and riverside. Very limited eating places around. Relatively its a reasonably good hotel.

  Kaki GB Golf Trip June 2017

  Reasonable hotel with affordable rate. Located right in the middle of "Lao China International Trade Zone" in short is in the China Industrial area. Surrounded by light industries and shops. It's is a gated area with their own security. Lobby was under extensive renovation. A KTV night club, Chinese restaurant and a pool. Topical Chinese hotel, just like those you see in Mainland China.

  Big Rooms In Vientaine

  12 of us stayed at Sanjiang Grand Hotel in Feb 2018. We were there for gof trip. The surrounding nothing much with some eateries. Breakfast spread was good. 5 miniutes by car to the Night Market. Best to trael in Dec to Feb as the weather is perfectly cooling.
