New Property. Sort of Out of the WayWe booked this property because we have a family of 5. For some reason, not many hotels that you can book online in Vietnam accommodate families who have 3 kids. You either have to book 2 rooms, or, you find a place like this one. This Sammy Hotel has a room with 3 queen sized beds. Double beds are a bit challenging for our kids who are aged 8, 12, and 14. So, primary reason for booking this hotel was for the room configuration with 3 queen beds. The room and the hotel were fairly new. The smell of the fresh wood and shellac on the wood furniture was quite strong. It's new furniture. What can we do? Open the windows and air out the room. The room was spacious. The bathroom is new, nothing fancy. The hotels need to be taught to build a 10cm lip to keep the shower water from getting all over the bathroom floor. The soiled towels were used as such. The AC worked well. The WiFi was OK. The TV worked OK. We watched the Warriors lose the NBA Finals to the Cavaliers - boo!) The staff was friendly. I can speak Vietnamese, so, we were able to ask for their help to ask for bus departure times for the next day's trip to Long Xuyen. When I asked, they provided umbrellas for us to go for a walk for dinner. (I won't make too much mention here, but, this location is next to some excellent local eateries. Just walk across the busy street or walk down the street on the same side of the street and there are excellent restaurants serving Pho (beef noodle soup), Hu Tieu (seafood noodle soup), Chao (congee/ rice soup), and Com Tam (broken rice with pork)). I'll do another review of Ha Tien as one of my favorite foodie towns - especially after returning from Cambodia and arriving back in Vietnam in Ha Tien.

Basic hotel in Ha tien that offers new clean roomHotel is right at the main thoroughfare leading to the border with Cambodia and near major attractions like the central market, the Mac Cuu tomb and the Standing Rock cave (Thach Dong). Room is pretty small and quite basic but nice and clean as the hotel is still new.

On the road to CambodiaWe decided to stay here because it was convenient a) to the ferry from Phu Quoc b) as it was straight up the road to Cambodia. We found it to be just what we needed, clean rooms with plenty of space, somewhere inside to store our bicycles and breakfast available for an early start. Only a short walk into town with plenty of restaurants near by. There is a fair bit of noise at night from the other rooms, some pads on the bottom of the chair legs could help reduce this. It is good value for money & convenient.

Good transit hotelAt stayed here for 1 night as part of a 6 week self guided cycle tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. The rooms are modern, clean and straightforward. One of our party asked the desk where we could get a photo taken locally for the Cambodian Visa application, a guy drove them to the photo shop and back. All done on 10 mins. We had l park our bikes in the front forecourt overnight. One of our bikes got paint splashed on it somehow. Breakfast was basic. This was fine for the one night.

Solid four starOlder hotel that gives historic vibe. Feels like a upscale NYC hotel. Very clean and well maintained. Rooms are spacious with good amenities. Location is good. Nice breakfast with many choices. No problem to recommend.
