  Great B&B

  This is a wonderful B&B, authentically decorated home in the heart of the historic district of Tuscon. There is a fantastic private walled garden which was a delight to use in the evenings. We stayed in the annex which was comfortable and very private. I slept soundly each night which explains a lot. Breakfast was very good and the host Susan was welcoming and charming. Overall I would highly recommend this B&B.

  A gem!

  I was attending an event at UofA and stayed 3 nights. In every respect this was an ideal place to stay. The room was comfortable and very quiet, no traffic noise at all and the bed was perfect. There is a large sitting/family room for everyone in the B&B (3 or 4 people at any one time?), and beautiful peaceful courtyard. The host Susan was so welcoming, it felt like being at home. A different breakfast is cooked each day it seems, and all the guests sit down together around 8:00-8:30 (when I was there): it was *delicious*! What more could one want? It's a home, not an impersonal hotel!

  Wonderful visit back at Sam hughes Inn

  I have the opportunity to visit Tucson for work once in a couple of years. I love staying at Sam Hughes. I was there 3 days again this August. I can't rave enough about it. The quilted high beds remind me of my childhood. The hospitality is just right - adjusted to the guest. I haven't had the opportunity yet to enjoy it enough since I am off to work every morning and only back in the evening. Next time I hope to spend time in the library on one of those great couches and just relax. I am not a relative or friend, just a repeater guest. Had to write this even though it's been a couple of months since I returned to Japan.

  Good sleep!

  This was my second time staying at the Sam Hughes Inn. Although I enjoyed my first visit, this one really won me over. Susan goes above & beyond to meet your needs. When she found out I enjoyed "bedtime" tea, she ensured I had a carafe of hot water in the evenings & a mug. The bed in the Nogales room was so comfy that I could barely tell I wasn't at home. The house is beautiful & clean... very close to the University of Arizona also. If you have special dietary needs, contact Susan ahead of time & she is happy & willing to meet them. I visit Tucson yearly & hope to enjoy many more stays at Sam Hughes Inn! Thank you, Susan, for being such an excellent host!

  Oasis in the Desert

  Susan, the innkeeper, and the Sam Hughes Inn are wonderful. My group made a necessary trip to Tucson with one day for fun. We stayed two nights at the Sam Hughes Inn. This was during the Corona pandemic. Susan was as particular about our safety was we were. The room and amenities were spotless. We stayed in the Santa Fe room with a private entrance off of the large, gorgeous, inviting patio. Susan provided ample amounts of the exact breakfast items that we requested. She and I texted and emailed before and during our stay, as she offered valuable advice about restaurants and open tourist attractions. The B&B is conveniently located in a quiet, historic neighborhood adjacent to the the UofA. The location, the price, the service, and the attention to detail were/are excellent. You will enjoy every minute at the Sam Hughes Inn.
