  Covid getaway

  My wife and I wanted to get away from home after spending so much time at home this past year. We booked 4 days at Salishan. We chose Salishan as we understood they were maintaining covid precautions. Our room was clean, staff brought clean towels to our room within minutes of calling, staff was professional, Tayler was amazing, we were having television problems late one evening and she took of everything for us. A 5 star employee, our vote for employee of the year. Our only negative was in the room pricing. We had called the resort for reservations, and were quoted room rates, and we confirmed our booking. What we did not realize is that Salishan adds a "room amenity" fee of $29. a night +$3.34 tax. There is also an added 11.8% occupancy tax. I asked the staff what a room amenity tax included and was told it was the upkeep of the golf course and resort. So what it comes down to is that after a room rate is quoted, anticipate at least a $45. a night extra in fees and taxes in your total bill.

  Fun 3 day getaway to the Coast

  We stayed 3 nights at Salishan, first trip in several years, having been there many times in the past. Now under new ownership, it is starting to return to its former hospitable coast resort appeal. The rooms are spacious, we had one "in the forest" above the main lodge which was private and quiet. Rooms have gas fireplaces that provide a nice ambience. We had an outstanding dinner at the Bay House, now located inside of Salishan. It is truly fine dining but has maintained its high standards and was one of the best meals (with outstanding service) that we've even had. Salishan is a great place to walk out onto the "Spit" which is scenic and uncrowded. They rent bikes and the small shopping center across the street is nearly full again, with a great array of art galleries, eateries, brewery and clothing stores. We really enjoyed how comfortable the stay was, uncrowded during the week, helpful staff and clean. Given Covid, we did not go to the Pool or hot tub but were able to sit outside on the deck in front of the gas fireplace enjoying the afternoon and a complimentary beer from the front desk. In summary- we recommend Salishan as a fun location for a romantic stay, for beach lovers and is close to other restaurants in Depoe Bay or Lincoln City. The beachcombing, driving north to the 3 Arch Capes or south to Devil's Punchbowl are among the best getaways for great pictures. Salishan- we recommend it!

  Coastal Retreat!

  The location is perfect for a weekend at the coast, thanks especially to Karen at the front desk and the engineer who dried off the outside chairs for us so we could sip drinks by the fire pit, such good service!! We also loved the chef's tasting menu and impeccable service at the Bay House. Overall very relaxing experience!

  The Best!

  My girlfriend and I decided this year for our anniversary that we would go away for a few days. We've both loved Oregon but weren't really familiar with the coast so we decided to venture off to a new spot and stayed at Salishan. After a year of being locked in our home due to Covid, this experience far exceeded any expectations we had going into it. We were incredibly surprised when we arrived that we had been upgraded to the beautiful Sunset Suite. My girlfriend had secretly been planning her proposal and with the help of Nickie and Ken, the whole experience, from the picnic, to the drone shots that were captured for us to remember this special day was AMAZING! The whole team at Salishan made us feel safe and welcomed. They treated us like we were apart of their family! We will definitely be returning!

  We found a really excellent mid-week winter deal

  We were put in a second floor room in a group of buildings up the hill. It was secluded, quiet (except for the family of cloggers who arrived the last night) and very peaceful. Huge trees off the deck. The fireplace (gas) was very nice, but puts out a lot of heat. The only place open to have food was the Attic above the reception area, but the food was quite good and the view was very nice. The bed was also very comfortable, and the room appointments as well. My wife had a wonderful deep thrombosis massage at the spa. The marketplace nearby was a disappointment. Only six miles to town and 20 minutes to Newport.
