  Nice place close to the old city

  Really great Bed & Breakfast... close to the old city, just 5 min by foot. Modern, clean, comfortable and spacy rooms, nicely decorated. Parking is possible in front of the hotel. Breakfast is basic but good.

  Prime Location, Clean and Friendly Staff

  Conveniently located on the lungomare, a short walk to the island of Gallipoli. The following morning we sunbathed on the rocks (even though I don't think its allowed, but all of the locals were doing it), and it was beautiful. Easy parking in front, simple but tasty breakfast. Very friendly staff. Rooms were very clean and spacious with a large shower. I only wished we had a view of the lungomare, I assumed we would because our room came with a balcony. But the room was on the opposite side of the building with small windows, and we didn't really have a balcony - it was a shared terrace in the front. So just make sure to double check before you book.

  Spartan but handy

  Navigator shows the block to the left of Salento Palace (see picture). The room has no cupboards instead hangers and open drawers very handy for short stays as this makes it possible to not live out of the suitcase in fear of forgetting something in a closed cupboard or chest of drawers.The Italian self-catering breakfast is ok, the coffee comes out of a coffee automat. The streets around the "Palace" are shabby, the sea view is nothing splendid. The walk to the old town's far end (landmark for ex. Mivida Cafe, Via Saponere, Gallipoli) is 1,4 km and takes 18 minutes. As driving in the old town for non-resident permit holders is not allowed, use for ex. the public parking near the fish market then walk.

  Skip it, by all means

  This place should figure as an hotel but definitely not as a B&B. Absolutely no character and the pictures are misleading. There is a very busy street right between your sea view window and the sea. Was awakened at 6:30 am by the loud conversation under my window of passers-by. Breakfast is a mini buffet served in a room that looks more like a canteen. The supervising is not 24 hours. We needed beach towels, no one at the reception desk, had to call the reservation number to reach someone. Needless to say that this place has nothing that could ressemble a palace...

  What a joke!

  I really don't understand the term palace in the name of this b&b! It's just a horrible building in front of the sea that looks nothing like a palace!! It's a 10mn walk to the historical center. Rooms are big but pretty basic and absolutely not soundproof; bad taste in their design as well. Rooms are either in the main building or in the one behind it on the 3rd floor. Breakfast offers fruit, one sort of bread with just one sort of cheese and ham, jam, Nutella, pasticiotti and croissants; no eggs nor vegetables. This b&b boasts a surprising score of 9 on booking.com, really don't understand how!! Definitely a place not to go back to!!!
