  good central place to stay in Bangkok

  I was slightly worried about going here as other reviews were lukewarm, but it fitted the bill for us perfectly. It was central (forget Sukhumvit if you want to see the sights), very close to both the metro and the skytrain, easy walk to shops and the Silom market and very pleasant. It has seen better days but our room was large, clean with a good ensuite and a small kitchenette (disappointingly no iron though). The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was excellent - the breakfast room on the 8th floor overlooks Lumpini park and there is a delightful pool.

  Well managed Thai-owned hotel in convenient location with friendly, helpful staff.

  From the moment of arrival, we felt at home as the front office manager came to welcome us at our taxi. His friendly and helpful manner was shared by all the staff we came in contact with during our visit. This hotel is really a serviced apartment. The clean rooms are large and well equipped with all the expected facilities, and there is also a small kitchen area. There is a breakfast buffet on the 8th floor, which also has a small swimming pool on a roof terrace. There is no restaurant, but this does not matter as there are many good places to eat in the vicinity. Situated on Saladang Road, near the major intersection of Silom Road and Rama IV Road in the central business district of Bangkok, the hotel is a neighbour to the more expensive international style Dusit Thani hotel. The skytrain (Saladang Station) and Underground (Silom Station) are nearby, making the hotel an excellent starting point for many trips. Our room was service promptly and well every day, the breakfast buffet changed daily and included both Asian and Western food, and wireless internet access was available and reliable (small extra charge). We were not looking for the luxury and facilities of an international 4 star chain hotel, but rather for a home-from-home, so Saladang Place provided exactly what we needed. I have stayed here several times and it is now my first choice for Bangkok. I

  Getting worse as prices rise

  I've written in defense of Saladaeng Place in the past, and used to stay there quite faithfully every visit. Eventually, the on-going deterioration of facilities and the rise in room rates make this a less and less competitive choice. Management seem to think that location is everything. Location is a lot, but no longer enough to justify the price and the shoddy facilities. While other properties are offering free WiFi, better breakfasts, and more reliable utilities at lower prices, it is very hard to recommend Saladaeng Place.

  Centrally locaded, full breakfast and large room

  Frequently travelling to Bkk and always stay close to Silom road to have as close as possible to work. For my first stay in Saladeng Place I say "fair value for money". Location good for both tourist and business traveller. Great view from most levels. Large room in appartment style having all utensils needed. Facility a little bit old fashioned styled but I don't mind as long as it's clean. Saladeng Pl gives no reason for complaints. AND, important to me, nice breakfast with omelette chef fixing egg and bacon on order.

  Raming Lodge

  my 2nd stay here now, located on Loh Kroh Rd , in between the Night markets & the moat, lots of bars restaurants near by. good hotel , I was in a delux room , was excellent comfy beds, good wifi , modern bathroom with a large shower head. good buffet breakfast, the pool is on the small side and located out back of hotel down the back lane about 20/30m . friendly reception staff, never saw the cleaners , but room was always cleaned daily, will stay again next time in CM .
