  holiday to hell

  Choosing the wrong hotel can ruin one's holiday - and this one is the perfect example of guarenteeing a holiday to hell. This hotel is rated 4 stars, but at best is a poor quality 3-star accommodation and is intended solely for Italians who like commotion. The apartments are small, cheaply furnished and many things are broken. The shower was a challenge: 50x50cm, with barely enough room to turn around in. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday with the family, this is not the place for you. The noise level was constantly high: Italian animators bellowing in the microphone by the pool (and the only area with a bar) and children screaming constantly (which one hears throughout the "village"). Thousands of Cicada (insects) provided background "music" by incessantly chirping/screeching all day. This was especially enjoyable when the air conditioning broke down for the weekend and we had to keep the windows open. Information on the web is lacking and misleading (we booked through hotels.com - never again). If you book the apartment only, be aware that there is no access to the restaurants and no where to eat close by (not even for breakfast). There is no maid service, except once a week and they won't even give you extra toilet paper if needed. If you book full board, then apparently you can eat at the restaurants, you have daily made service, but have no utensils in your kitchen. There is only wifi at the noisy pool or in the lobby (which didn't work all the time). There is no fitness centre, contrary to what I found on the internet. On the positive side, the gardens are well kept up and a few of the women at the reception tried to be accommodating. We were able to change to a two bedroom apartment when it became obvious that 4 people could not stay in a one bedroom apartment for two weeks. I definitely will never go back to the Salento/Puglia area - or maybe never to Italy for a holiday. The region is uninteresting and the architecture in general is depressing. Some of the small towns are interesting and of course the sea is beautiful, although nice beaches are hard to find. If you do not like fish or seafood, you will starve here - or have to resort to eating only pizza.

  Terrible stay

  This place is like camping, basically parents sat by bar and drank and kids running around like crazy with nothing to do, pools open odd hours and close down in afternoon for a few hours. Food terrible, waitress spilled water all over me, tv was broken, beds were all like cots. Not worth the money.
